Set both = to 0 close and then restart Empty4

I agree with 1direction.

I have had similair issues and changing variables for nil result, no trades, No info on screen regarding superslope, spreads, direction etc.....Shutdown Empty4 and restarted and voila....all good.

Need to practice my NOOB mantra:- if all else fails then "switch it off"

V 1g is in post 1. The code changes are complex. It will be a miracle if they work flawlessly, so do not put 1g on a live account.

I have added individual time frame ability to trade all Flying Buddha signals up to a specified maximum. Details are in the user guide.

After coding this, I realised that allowing multiple FB trades has implications for Recovery. For example:

we have three buy trades open and the market rises so they are all in profit.
there is another FB, so Awesome takes another buy which is immediately into DD.
Awesome discovers the 'loser' at the next run through CountOpenTrades() and sets the recovery flag. This will result in the position closing immediately the new trade has been taken.

Taking time frame 1 as an example, I have introduced a new input to overcome this - Trade1NoOfLosersRequired. Now Awesome will only look for possible Recovery closures when there are at least Trade1TradesToConstituteRecovery trades open and there are at least Trade1NoOfLosersRequired of them in DD.

All this probably has implications for fill-the-gap trades, so I suggest disabling this feature if you are multi-trading FB signals.

Coders, I have been sharing all this with Gary for his FIFO version and zaguy who is coding a version that replaced FB with HGI as the trade trigger. I needed an easy way for them to find my code changes and came up with the idea of marking them all with the same comment. Do searches for these strings to find them for yourselves:

//Take every trade signal
//Amended Recovery code.
//Amended FB code. (Note that some of the variables have disappeared from the FB inputs section.)

Hi TJF,

Thanks so much for the great work you are doing here

. Murphy's law, just after my post things turned around a bit. I knew it was bound to happen sooner or later. A good thing however, is that I closed because I could have been in a spot of bother right now. I know retraces or trend changes tend to happen from the 20th onwards towards month end. I simply closed the batch and I know the win rate is extremely good on this set and should make it up pretty quick rather than linger on in the hope that it would come back.

Anyway to come back to the question if we can ever make any Ea handsfree? Well not so sure about that. I think we can get away with minimal intervention but not entirely. Anyway all my test Ea's took a beating today, but not so serious in the overall picture, we march on

For those of you who are interested, I have uploaded a 2nd version of "Awesome Holy Graily Bob" with the following changes:

1) I have added an option to allow Rad trading (the small 45 degree angled arrows) or not on the HGI indi.
2) I have added Flying Buddha as an additional filter. There is an option to use or not (i.e. "UseFB). This is in addition to the other indis (namely Peaky and SuperSlope). If all 3 indis are used, it means a trade will only be taken if all 3 indis agree, as well as HGI as the trade trigger.
3) I have added a Ranging Filter. This filter ensures that there is sufficient movement on a currency pair. It will look back x number of candles and determine if there was a vertical movement of y pips over the x number of candles or not. If not - a trade for that currency pair will not trigger, eg. check the last 10 candles for the M5 period and determine whether there was at least a 15 pip vertical movement. If not, no trade will trigger.
