Hello all,

Here is the result of my test with recovery.

The drawdown is quite big, and i you think about it , it's quite logical because recovery adds multiple trades.

I will stop this test and start the same (m1, m5 and m15 baskets) but without recovery.

Looking at each of the MyFxBook links on page 1 for the initial tests it is clear to see that the M15 test without the Swap filter is the best of that bunch. And in all the test £5 TP has delivered more than anything lower so this is helpful because it rules out any further interest for me with M1, M5 or smaller than £5 TP.

In addition with my MTF sets: no recovery (just global basket close) is doing much better than the individual baskets with recovery so it would be fair to deduce that a M15 Global Basket should be the strongest overall so far.

Now I suspect that M30 and H1 may be stronger still and as for H4 just take a look at Spyderman's tests or the screenshots below... interestingly PeakHiLo has not yet delivered any benefit compared with just H4 and SS....

So perhaps M15,M30,H1,H4 would be an awesome MTF combo?

And this needs to be tested with and without Recovery,
With wider spaced Fillthegap trades,
With £5, £25, £50 TP's ?
Also W1 SS compared against D1
And PeakHiLo True/False

So another month of testing ahead ... let me know who's in and I am happy to circulate new set files and upgraded to the latest original version.

(Spyderman I suggest you just keep your H4 test running as they are because I have a feeling these sets are solid winners and will be good to see a longer period).

YesI agree although just to clarify recovery is what closes the multiple trades for a lower TP (default 10pips), fillthegap inputs are what add the multiple trades.

So when I reference a set file with no recovery what I mean is it still adds multiple trades but does not close these trades independently for minimum profit, only with a global basket close. This seems to manage drawdown much better.

I understand what you mean and if you are going to test with no multiple trades or much wider spaced multiple trades that will be very interesting and something we haven't really explored the potential of yet. I just wanted to explain the difference for the benefit of anyone reading.

These are probably the setfiles your refer to above.
One was from Spyderman as mentioned. Other was yours.
I run them on
the same account..no problem.

I deleted the account on the vps to make room to start over.
cause other setups perform poorly.

Performance was very good with these.

I am surprised that you think M1 is not good. I have been running a modified version of your M1,5,15,60 no recovery set, and M1 was the best, with M15 2nd. M5 and H1 were not so good.

I think it's relative. When running multiple timeframes M1 will appear better because it will always have more positions open than the higher timeframes in that set. Which is why we tested each timeframe individually to get a fair comparison. If you have M1 and H1 in the same set often when a H1 position opens there are already 5 M1 positions open to bring a basket close so actually if you dropped H1 from that set it may become more efficient but that does not mean that M1 is more accurate than H1 just that it opens more positions. For this reason I not yet convinced that MTF is the way to go but am definately leaning towards the higher timeframes.

That said any profitable set is a good set

Yes, I see, I hadn't thought about it like that, and all those M1 trades can turn into a nightmare when price action goes against you, so I can see the good sense in what you are saying.
