Since the EA wasn't performing as intended - Steve only put out a patch for the trade bunching issue today - how can we draw any conclusions yet? The bunched trades contributed to to some pretty heavy drawdown and ate up margin but probably also helped it to recover quickly when the market turned. Of course the outcome might be different in another week.

I'm going to continue running on GBPJPY next week on M5 but will also add a nice ranger - EURGBP, AUDCAD or AUDNZD. I'm thinking to try both M5 and H1 timeframes.

Do we use another indicator to decide on how HGBCP should trade

CSS
TJF setfile trading when CSS is between -0.5 and 0.5
Hedging or offsetting when CSS is above or below these values

HGI
TJF setfile trading when ranging signal
Hedging or offsetting when trending signal

M5 maybe to volatile for this to work but way work on higher timeframe

Lots of questions including several posed by me.

I am going to ask you guys to stop asking them for now, in light of another idea I had earlier. I might delete a fair few of the recent posts in the morning to reflect my latest thoughts but am hanging on for now as I have imbibed; imbibing and forum regulating do not often make comfortable bedfellows. I will sing out in the morning if I decide to delete the posts and no criticism whatsoever will be implied on the posters.

My other idea goes right back to the concept of what was originally Candle Power when I coded it as my own experiment:

• send stop orders at the hilo of the preceding candle whenever a new candle forms.
• allow stop orders to fill and close out the entire position whenever a basket take profit is hit.

Simple concept but a whole host of complications so I added to it as I experimented and these additions led to the bot I presented here.

I am going to add this feature for testing next week: once there is a user-defined trade imbalance, then revert to the original concept and look to close out at a pre-defined basket take profit.

We can move on from there if this does not help.

In the meantime, enjoy the profits from TJF's fantastic set file and close down entirely from time to time when you have made a decent profit for the week and do not like the way the market is moving against you.

Here the results for the week tested on gold as well as an index (dax). What to say, results are amazing drawdown was marginal compared to the profit generated.

Latest version in use with the no stop loss standard set file (TJF) on M5. No manual interventions.

As suggested by Steve I will try it on other time frames to compare.

Anyone would join a synchronized forward test?

Great to see so many excellent results here.

I am doing a lot of work on CP this weekend. I have added code that identifies an unbalanced position, removes all stop losses and take profits then manages the basket through to our basket take profit. I am going to add offsetting both as a standard trade closure and to help deal with unbalanced positions.

Coenraad has just emailed me to say that Thomas has completely solved the distance between trades thingy in his Awesome Bells and Whistles code, so I will hack that as I am not certain that mine is watertight. I am going to write a user guide as well.

Ye Gods folks. I have the intellect of a low-flying dumpling. The code to enforce a minimum distance between trades is the simplest in the world. I cannot even begin to work out why I made it so complicated.
