Latest update of my setfile based on Dclay H4 HiLo 730 running v1m since 24/10/17. Doing extremely well but you need big balls at one stage it went into 30% drawdown but surprisingly has recovered. As you can see EURCAD still in drawdown since 13/11 but will probably leave it alone and see how it performs with no intervention.

I have 2 other tests running with changes to the setfiles one appears to be very, very, boring, but in profit with minimal drawdown.

The other is based on http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 83#p157783 although with modifications working on v1r. Next step is to combine them into a system which makes enough trades but limits drawdown to a less heart stopping level! After analysing all 3 systems in detail the combination of settings shouldnt be too difficult to find to produce the desired results. Will report back anything decent

Here is my $3,000 demo, four weeks in, using Dclay H4 PeakHiLo, trading .01 lots. Default pairs, in fact, everything default. Traders Way broker. At this point I'm up 300 bucks on a $3,000 account. Pretty darn impressive.

The USDCHF pairs started opening 10 business days ago and they are slow to cooperate, now holding several sell orders. That was the source of the big drawdown you can see from the chart. If it was real world I probably would have closed them out on the Friday of the first week they were open, and If I decide to go live with Awesome, I may dump the CHF pairs entirely.

Still undecided for a good offshore broker that a USA citizen can access.

I thought I would update my test results from some weeks back. This is basically using TJF set file on the 1hr with maybe one or two minor tweeks (cant remember what they were). Has been running since the 5th sept and all hands off.

Demo on a 1K a/c but wanted to see if it could survive as there is a good level of drawdown at times but feel confident there should be enough buffer built up now (based on past performance as per chart). There are no open trades at moment as weekly profit target reached, set at 15%

My live a/c is showing similar results also on 1k a/c and came within an absolute whisker of a margin call but survived and is now at 48% with pos equity. I would not hesitate to trade this way with a 10k a/c if I had the funds.

Hi Guys

I have added 3 trading buttons to the EA,

BUY+SELL buttons because I want to be able to add to existing trades OR to start a new trading cycle
and a CLOSE ALL button because I prefer to use a button than the script.

Yes the drawdown can be a problem, so it needs to be managed or it can put our account at risk.

Sometimes price will keep going, we haven't had any major policy changes since Sept so you were lucky in that regard but sooner or later there will be one, and then 1 or more of your pairs will turn around and keep going in 1 direction for days, weeks or even months.

If we are lucky the move will be with the current trend but sometimes a move is against the trend
This is where most people get caught out and blow their accounts.

So another year over Happy Xmas and New Year to everyone

Just thought I would give an update on my findings, going live in the New Year. Firstly been running Aw 1m V1 since Oct 24th good profits but 30% drawdown at one point.

Then a modified version A1 1r V2 much safer very boring consistent profit with 0.5% drawdown.

I think there is a new version to be found combining the 2 into a reasonably risky EA combined with good consistent profit. I will start the 3rd version in 2018 and report on progress.

The account started with a balance of £383 as I tend to use existing demo setups rather than start afresh, so I guess you are correct as at one point the equity drawdown balance was at £400.53 and actual balance of £547.43 or -£146.9 which was almost all my profit.

On a large account far less of an impact so drawdown although extremely important when assessing the chance of going bust may not be the only indicator of the best performing EA, I think other stats need to be looked at.

For example
Profit Factor
The profit factor shows how many times the gross profit (Sum of all the winning trades) exceeds the gross loss (Sum of all the losing trades). The higher the value, the better.
Aw 1m V1=3.46
Aw 1r V2=13.08
I guess it would be wise to compare like with like in terms of account size/lot size in the future which will make it easier to compare systems. Anyway good news is they are both in profit
