There are fantastic thingies happening at SHF these days and you expect the coders to try to make sense of the chaos that is the guy's thread?patmontes » Sat Feb 10, 2018 3:29 am wrote:Trying out if I could get paid help to code this system into an EA for Empty4.

Dream on.
Do the usual. Trade it manually, whatever 'it' is, then come back to us with a serious proposal if you can make it profitable. Then you will get it for free.
Or, if you really want to pay for an EA from one of the serious EA coders here, then put together a specification that accurately describes what you want to achieve. Nothing turns us away faster then, "Follow this link to read about it......." OR ITS EQUIVALENT.
Note my turning imbecility off at the pass there, just for those of you who like to piss about with exact phrases. Not you patmontes.
Read the effing manual, ok?
Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.
I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.
Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

Hi,
I just had a quick look through the post about this system and it's a lot clearer than most!! The various versions confuse things a little but the differences are subtle. Versions 2.0 to 2.3 could easily be combined into one EA with each just being different settings options. The basic idea is to trade reversals using the HHHL and LLLH candle patterns, entering via pending stop orders on a break of the preceding candle to confirm the reversal. SL and TPs are ATR based, with the various versions having different treatments for trailing stops and taking partial profits. The stop orders are placed with a 12hr expiry or are optionally cancelled on an additional signal. Earlier versions had a filter on the signals based on the previous 4 candles but that seems to have been dropped in the later versions.
I'm not putting my name in the hat to have a go at this one but having read it, I just thought I share the fact that it's a relatively simple job for anyone that is prepared to step forward.

Ok, so I've had a second look at this and you've only got a look at a chart for 2 mins to see that on an uptrend there are loads of HHHL (higher high, higher lows) and likewise, on a downtrend there are loads of LLLH's (Lower lows, lower highs). Essentially, in order to catch the reversal, as price goes upwards you are trailing a sell stop entry and as price falls you are trailing a buy stop entry.
Beyond this I couldn't really visualise the system on the charts so I've put my limited coding to the test this evening to pull together the attached indicator. This highlights the HHHL and LLLH signals. I've put the signal on the closed candle at the low or high of the previous candle as per the system described in Padmontes' link. I've also added the option to filter the signals based on whether the low or high was the lowest or highest of lookback candles as this is also mentioned in the system. Set this to zero to see all signals.
Here is the resulting signals with a lookback set to 3 for yesterday on the EURUSD H1: You can see the trail of short stop signals on the way up and the trail of long stop signals on the way down. I figured it would be easier to see if I joined the dots - and so we get this:
I can't vouch for the system but if anyone was thinking of getting some manual evidence together then this might be of use. I've left the SL's and TP's out of it for now but I have added the following other features which you can play with:
- EntryBufferPips - option to move the signal lines away from the actual highs and lows by a pip buffer
- EntryLines - I've extended the signal lines as "Entry lines" to the right of the chart to aid manual order placement
- ShowHistogram - option to shade in the area between the two signal lines - forms a sort of breakout cloud but it's a bodge job tbh.
It's all obvious enough in the settings so just play with it. HOWEVER, I can't promise it will work on everyone's broker/account/Symbols and I'm not about to do loads of amends. You can have what I've done and I hope it helps someone.
Cheers

OK patmontes, Bruster proves that this works with 20:20 hindsight.
Over to you to prove that it works in real time. Time to put up or ask me to pull the plug on this thread?
Guess what I think.

The system is extremely accurately described in the original. I do not know how the indicator can help.
