From my chart observations I want to say that default settings for the distance to open/close pips (20/15) can not be universal for all currency pairs. For confirmation of my words yesterday I chose 3 pairs with different ATR ( 14 days: eur/gbp ~60, eur/jpy ~120, gbp/jpy ~180) and ran simultaneous tests with different open/close settings – I think values around 25% of ATR can be good to survive the market pullbacks/ranging periods (to avoid zig-zag series of losing trades). And results? Tests confirmed that low open/close values are optimal for low ATR pair (eur/gbp), but disaster for high ATR pair (gbp/jpy); and high values are not good for eur/gbp, but awesome for gbp/jpy. Mid ATR pair (eur/jpy) was ranging almost all day, so only few hours were profitable, but middle values should be most profitable for any pair in the trending market (if you after all want an universal settings for all pairs). I know that were just 1 day tests, but (15/15) – 30/30 – (45/45) settings are good starting points for the future testing.

I would bet a pound of mine to a penny of yours that the EA handled the trades perfectly.

I am not going to post here often. I am running a demo I offered to Thomas but do not have much interest beyond that.

I am posting now though. Your post has seriously annoyed me. Of course a few stop losses got hit. Dimwits like you set stop losses and they get hit. Only a cretin thinks this will not happen. Never, ever think this is the fault of a coder whose intellect leaves yours so far behind in the shadows that you disappear from vision after the rest of us have travelled a metre in front of you.

I just checked the demos running on the VPS. TCR has not traded all week and is displaying the out of trading hours message and trading hours of +0 and -0.

You have commented out the trading hours code. Did you mean to do that?

Hi Steve.

There are two new inputs tradingStartHour and tradingEndHour at the top of the inputs. We have introduced them as some testers struggled with the input format of the old tradingHours. Both inputs default to "0" and must be changed to the time slice you are testing.
