Hello. This is a new one on me. I have had the latest version of Empty4 or rather, the 1090 version for quite a while, and HGI has worked fine on it yet, on returning to it after Easter weekend 'HGI expired' appears on any new chart I may upload. Tried deleting the HGI. So here I am asking for assistance. I'll bookmark this page and return here to see any new reply. Thank you and sorry to bother you of course!

Have the latest version. It worked fine before the Easter break and I have updated it several times since being a member here. That's the puzzle. If I have to survive without it I will miss it but will be ok. Even though I try to keep my computer free of problems perhaps this is some kind of peculiarity that appeared ... Might help if I try system restore. If try to do that, will return to give the results.

Make sure you delete the old HGI.ex4 file and make sure the new one is going into the correct folder. If you are running the L version, you may have to update the lib file also. Not sure on that, I just do it as a matter of course. My HGI is running fine so it's likely a problem in your setup

What would cause this to change just over the last few days, when I have done nothing at all to change my original settings: the HGI worked fine - I think the last time I was online was just before Good Friday, March 30. What I'll do is redo the settings and I will check to make sure no earlier versions are stored in places like downloads where I put new versions. Again, I've been doing this for several years with no difficulty. I'll be back to report. I won't be doing system restore.

I was having the same problem but now it is running fine.
Go to your mql folder --- indicator folder --- delete HGI old files
then go to mql --- library----- delete hgi old files

start this Empty4
then close it.

copy the new files into the folders.

start again this Empty4.
it is working with me that way.

Found both versions of the latest (expiration 1 september 2018) HGI, 16.09 and 17.00 and no other versions in either downloads or documents. Found only 17.00 in the data folder on the Empty4. But, good news. 17.00 which did work fine for as long as it has been available, no longer does without the expiry notice appearing as of the Easter break of around 3 days but: using the 16.09 does work. I started using the HGI signals as they appear (being valid at that moment), then shifted to waiting for the H4 candle to close before looking for a trade and most recently (realising that the signals continue changing long after the initial candle has closed) to using the HGI signals as merely indicating the possibility of a trade. But that's far from knowing what I'm doing!

I am also not sure if it is better to avoid re-appearing arrows or not. In my experiments those were mostly losers if I take them and let them live until wavies occur.

Bob, many thanks as always for HGI. This year I began trading HGI Daily signals. I've slowly adjusted my strategy, but I'm having fun (and success) trading live using Bollinger Bands with 3 standard deviations as a starting point to begin looking for trades and sometimes as an exit point in conjunction with HGI. Generally, I'm looking for price to be near the upper band to start looking for sell trades and near the lower band to begin looking for buy trades. Once I start trading in a direction, I keep going until HGI or BB indicates I've reached the limit of a run.

In early February I began placing buy trades on Bob's favorite pair, GBPCHF when price was near the lower BB but began splitting away from the lower line after price had dropped about 500 pips in a couple of weeks. I've placed eight buy trades total since then, the first when I saw a blue wave, then additional trades whenever I saw rad buy or Trend buy signals. Each trade had a TP of 180 pips, which was approximately 200% of the Daily ATR (365). Six trades closed with the 180 pip profit. Yesterday I closed the final two trades, one at about break even, one at a about a 100 pip loss. All in all, nearly 1,000 pips net since early February. I may have to avoid trading GBPCHF for a while to keep my hard won profits!
