The EA in post 1 is the single trader. The pdf refers to the multi-pair trader. Which trading EA are you guys using?

No need for further replies folks. I will sort this out tomorrow. I shall also add code to the bot that will allow you to set it up to take part in Thomas and Rene's test database thingy.

The correct user guide is in post 1. I guess it does not really matter as this single trader does the same things as the multi-trader and you guys sorted it out in your own heads.

V 1d is in post 1. This has the ability to link with the Tests Database by setting the WriteFileForTestDatabase input to true at the bottom of the General Inputs section. It defaults to 'true' so remember to turn it off if you do not want to take part in generating the database. I encourage all of you to take part, so read about it at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 105&t=5405. You do not need the update if you do not intend to take part; just remember it if there is another update.

You can easily add your own opdate.Scroll down to "extern int PostTradeAttemptWaitSeconds=10;" and insert this underneath:
extern bool WriteFileForTestDatabase=true;

Then go to the top of int OnInit() and add this:

The single-pair version shouldnt have the code "HGBCP", as this is already given to the multi-pair version. I propose "HGBCS", otherwise the database can't distinguish them.

I have made the change to the post 1 version. The DIY fix is:

becomes

ChartSaveTemplate(0,StringFormat("ZZT2MTPL-%s-%s-%s-%d-%d-%d-%d","SHF","HGBCS",Symbol(),Period(),AccountNumber(),TimeCurrent(),MagicNumber));

These are my results after 7 months of testing. Lot size is 0.10 and using SL set for most of the time. Now only GBPJPY is using the SL set and the others are using the "CP no tp" set suggested by Gertje.

I started with GBPJPY and then added USDJPY and GBPNZD. But the draw down generated by the NZD pair was frightening and I was looking for an opportunity to reduce the exposure. USDJPY came home sooner so I deactivated it in order to allow the others room to recover.

I ended up leaving the USDJPY deactivated for a long time even though it was a better performer than GBPNZD. GBPJPY has always been the best performer. A few weeks ago, I added GBPAUD and EURNZD because of their volatility. Just reactivated USDJPY so now I have 5 pairs running. Same lot size for all pairs.

Hi All

I have been running HGBCandlePower since Aug-Sept2017 (EURUSD, GBPJPY only). I believe it was TJFs original setfile, but I have attached my setfile anyway.

Great results with 14% return on a $10k account (trading 0.01 lots) (International Capital Pty Ltd Demo)

There has been a 'scarily' large difference in the number of BUYs to SELLs at times, along with significant DD (right now I have 15BUYS to 1SELL on GBPJPY)

However with patience it keeps chugging along...

I share your feelings.

I have CP running on demo for 14 weeks now, and while the returns are good, the DD is scary sometimes.
I had it on a liveaccount for a while, but decided to remove it due to the high DD.

The demoaccount got doubled in these 14 weeks though.

The xxxNZD pairs run with a pipdistance of 20, the EURGBP and EURUSD use 10 pipdistance.
Dollup is 0.01/$1.000 balance, the red horizontal lines are placed where the lotsize increases to be able to see if the profit increases as well.
No TP or SL is used, just offsetting.
