Hi Nev

Are you using fill the gap orders in this setup?

Cheers

Yes mate, I am perfectly happy to release some clues, I have been following your setups actually on Awesome + SS with interest. I am still getting pm's for the setfile but I dont want to just give it out. However pointless reinventing the wheel so will certainly guide you in the right direction (if it doesnt break in the meantime  ). As it happens today so far it is using lots of gap filling so hopefully will recover later.

Without giving away the exact answer, any pointers/suggestions on TP criteria?

Are you using basket / individual TP? recovery?

I have several AWESOME (original) demos running (TP in pips + recovery after 3-4 trades) but are looking to expand into new demos, so now that i've stumbled into this AWE+SS I want to give 2-3 new demos a shot but would apprciate any pointers on where to look at for TP :D

Hi Nev :hi:
Thank you, yes I thought that you would be using the "fill the gap" function.
I see you are using 125 for the MarketDistancePips input.
This means that your pending orders will be 62.5 pips apart.

The problem we are going to have when using such a large distance
is with the pairs which have a low daily range because they will not be able to recover.
If on the other hand we use a low number then we will have too many trades triggered
on the pairs which have a large daily range and will probably suffer a big DD.

Ideally we should be trading several Awesome EA's on 1 account ( with different magic numbers)
and group similar pairs together.
This would be the most efficient way of addressing the above problem.

Also, 6 trades per timeframe is probably too little and at 65 pips apart you will have a range of approx 400 pips before you run out of trades.
Think about this if you are trading pairs which have a large daily range or if you are using a Stop loss.

Now if you are trading small timeframes eg 5 and 15min you are likely to get double trades on 1 pair and this is going to be a problem when a pair is not respecting the 6th and keeps heading for the moon (one of these days it will happen).

In order to address this problem, I have added a function called minimumDistance BetweenAll Trades and this works well but it interferes with the fill the gap function so I'm now working on a different way to prevent double trades which stops the same pair traded again by another time frame.

Certainly this change will reduce the overall account profit but I want to eliminate the danger of over-trading 1 pair.

Another way to approach this problem would be to leave the EA as is
and to allow all timeframes to close their own trades so some of those duplicate trades will close when their own profit is reached. This approach isn't as good as the minimum trade distance filter but it will help with the DD .

I'm certainly open to ideas if you or anyone else wants to make a suggestion on this issue.

Cheers

I have two sets going on the same account, one with 200 pips SL and one with 400 pips SL for pairs with higher volatility (USDJPY etc).

Hi all Awesome Traders,

I am very happy to see new people interested in this EA.

First, of course it is always possible to try to improve the whole entry strategy in forex. I am still trying to do it... Nevertheless I truly believe and I am convinced that this Flying Buddha associated with these Superslope gives very very good entries. I do not say that just to be nice, I observed these entries regularly and I am impressed myself.

But according to me what we are missing is more : Now that we have opened trades, what do we do with them ?

There are already a lot of possibilities in the EA, thanks especially to Steve and Thomas for that.
But as Bill already started to say it, we probably need more about the MM. The devil is in the details and it is also true in forex. A good money management is not designed to avoid overtrading, so for people who overtrade, please change your mind as a useful EA is not designed to make 50 % per month. If you really want to do these 50%, manual trading and others forums are for you.

Bill like me understood that and everyone of us is working at the moment to try to find new ideas to practise these efficient MM. We can speak about MM in different ways. I am trying to do a first list but there are a lot of others concepts to add ..

1 - EA has to be able to change its mind alone, that means to be able to change not only his TP but also the way of TP (Basket Global Profit value , Basket Symbol Profit values, etc....)

2 - Let your winners running is difficult with an EA, especially when you use the Basket Global Profit value.
Imagine we have a 10$ BGP, the different trades together reach these 10$, how could we know if it is worth to exit or to stay in the trades ? Because before to close all the trades, it could be possible to check either the SS values, either CSS values to see if there is still potential for every pair and then depending of the whole position composition, if there is still potential for it...

3 - To follow with the previous idea, why not to create a "Breakeven" but for the whole position ?
Same thing as for usual breakeven, but for the whole position. I already tried it and it works.

4 - Still with the Basket Global Profit, it would be also possible to close half of the trades and let the rest running to keep equity increase.

5 - For Basket Symbol and Global Profit . If you have negatives trades, the recovery system is already very great, I like it but something may be added. Imagine you have 7 trades EURUSD in negative territory (-500 pips) opened from two weeks ago and it is worst every day (trend goes fast), in the same time you have 6 AUDCAD in good positions (+500) . What would be the best idea for most of us, just close the AUDCAD and wait for the recovery for EURUSD, I do not think so. All of us would prefer to close EURUSD in the same time to be able to exit these wrong EURUSD positions...
The EA should be able to check the trades and decide itself what to do with the different scenarios available.

The possibilities are endless if you let the EA decide through the different possibilities...
You have not to share this point of view of course but if a lot of strategies fail, it is because of MM, not because of entries.

Cheers

Letsarb

PS: Steve, thanks for your proposal, I need to think about it.
Bill mentioned a conflict between "Fill the Gaps" and "Recovery system" if I am not wrong, he could better explain than me, it could be the first thing to correct (to improve) in original Awesome 2SS.
Then if we could integrate in the future all these kind of MM in the Awesome 2SS, it would be probably better to do it with the new Thomas dashboard. It could also bring confusion and differences with the original Awesome 2SS, I do not know yet, what do you think ?

Hi letsarb,

Great to have you in this thread! Welcome

I have a question for you, I have Awesome_2SS running on the same PC, Two terminals on Global Prime connected on the same server with the same settings howeverI am getting completely different Flying Buddha signals.. They don't match when surely they should? I mentioned via PM to another user who's confirmed they have noticed the same thing, just wondering why that might be?

Hi Nicolas

I have not noticed such conflict., I was only referring to the modification I did to address the multiple trade issue. I agree with you that we don't need 50% gains per month.

The Thomas dashboard is useful, I have added it to my AW version, I just need to spend a bit of time to add the 2nd SS to it and if Steve agrees I can send it to him for approval and release. I also added the Zeljko+only trade 2 filters so that I have them for when I become super conservative.

Other than that, I also want to add a variable grid distance for the fill the gap function but not the way it works in the SPB EA because in the SPB I could never get it to work properly using the ATR settings.
Maybe I'm missing something..... :youknow:

Cheers
