What a brilliant idea, thank you both.

Is FXTestify limited to EA's developed on this forum or if one of us finds an EA that is doing well would it be acceptable to post that for the benefit of other users and possible improvement on this forum?

No, it is not limited at all to EAs developed on this forum.

But, we need to add a few lines of code to the EA that is to be tested. Therefore, we (or the EA provider) needs to have access to the source code of that EA in order to insert these lines and recompile it.

We would be delighted to diversify the set of EAs -- this is for the benefit of every one.

Steve, I want to whole heartedly thank you for your amazing insight and resolve many years ago to build this collective community to solve this problem. Steve Et Al, René, Thomas, Nanning Bob, Captain Jack, Jemook, Gertje, Leon, TraderJoe etc. all the team that have contributed human CPU cycles to this organic brain... I am indebted to you all as I'm tried for almost 10 years now to beat this beast into submission. While I've achieved some success and I've incorporated some ideas into my EA, I've learnt more in the past year or so since discovering SHF than in all the years prior. You all need to be applaudable, standing ovation, by ALL members of SHF. Major and Minor contributes, and lurkers (as you put it Steve) who silently watch and learn.

René, Thomas, you are spot on, everyone has vastly different reasons for their active or inactive contributions to SHF and I have been a silent absorber if this knowledge till now. Though I'm time poor, (three boys under six) I'm working towards joining fxtestify and adding my results. I've been testing a few EA's for a while now and have also been tinkering with setup's and feel my results are finally worth publishing.

In another part of this forum, I asked if it was possible to automate one of my idea's.
Reneexxx immediately started hacking away and provided the solution.

I wanted to use this to replace the manual labour I'm doing, scanning the charts every time and re-entering with limit orders besides PoS.

To give a understanding of what I'm doing, below my current chart of AUDCAD.

I wait for PoS to enter a trade when conditions are right, and enter stop-orders all the way up to the grey halfwayline of the 6th indi. TP@ every new order, except the lowest one, that one I set to TP at the halfwayline.
Every time an order closes@TP, I re-enter with a limitorder to take advantage of the pullback that might come.
Doing so, gives me great returns.
Using PoS untouched, these pullbacks cause DD, or one sees unbanked profits disappear to come back later.

Till now [for almost a year], price has ALWAYS came back to the chosen direction.
Sometimes it takes longer, but in the end, it gets there.

I think your way can be integrated into PoS.

Scan trade history for latest TP. If found within a certain time period add limit orders.

Coding it is a different matter of course.

I will hang on until you are certain, now that you have Rene's EA.

And many thanks to Rene for coding this for us. I have been using scripts and seeing that I am trading POS only on the Daily timeframe, this will become very useful and especially in the way that Gertje has described. :hi:

PoS v1e OOTB returns for period May 10 - June 1.

A big thanks to Gertje for his persistence in testing. Also to Steve and other forum contributors.

PoS has managed to dig itself out of considerable drawdown to close all positions with a profit across all pairs.

Will update the forum again after 3 months of data is collected.

I am coming to enjoy this bot a lot. Using Gertje's set from post 1:

These are 0.01 lot trades on an account starting with a deposit of $500. PoS sends the trades. They gradually move towards and then hit, their TP. It is a while since I saw the open trades in overall DD. I have left the bot entirely unattended.

A few more weeks like this on demo and I will repeat my exercise with SPB and split some of my main trading account into a sub-account to host PoS.
