I am coming to enjoy this bot a lot. Using Gertje's set from post 1:


These are 0.01 lot trades on an account starting with a deposit of $500. PoS sends the trades. They gradually move towards and then hit, their TP. It is a while since I saw the open trades in overall DD. I have left the bot entirely unattended.

A few more weeks like this on demo and I will repeat my exercise with SPB and split some of my main trading account into a sub-account to host PoS.

As would ever have been in the past.

Thingy is, we Old Stagers ('Grizzled Ole Veterans'? 'Grumpy Old Bastards'?) have been at this stuff for a while. Our understanding is light years away from where it was a decade ago.

I often think that if the SHF equivalent was available back then, it would not exist now because it would not be needed.

We are cutting a decade off the learning journey of any new member prepared to take the time to learn. If we have not quite got this retail Forex trading business cracked just yet, then we are damn close.

To give an idea of what I have been trying to accomplish with the aid of Rene and Steve lately , see below chart of USDCHF.

The top-to-bottom distance of price action since 01 may is appr. 175 pips.
By re-entering on every pullback, I have been able to bank over 6 times this amount of pips.
There is some DD involved of course, but overall this re-entering pays off.

The 3 trades in DD on the left, I entered prematurely.
In a hurry to jumpstart my new account, I couldn't control my itchy fingers.
The result of this is 12,5 pips in negative swap on this pair....

The orders that closed @ BE were on purpose, I closed these trades in order to enter with a higher lotsize due to balance growth in the time after entering. At the moment I don't do this anymore, I just let these orders close and re-enter with higher lotsize according to the dollup.

Right now I have 60 live orders on 19 pairs, grand totall of working lots combined across these pairs is 2.51 full lots.
DD on the account is less than 1% at the moment, and has been positive most of last month.

For now you need to add the additional stop-orders manually.

Has the trade replicator paid off for you here?, I know you have mentioned, that you are doing it manually. Is the trade replicator an alternative for this? The reason I ask is because if the trade replicator can simulate your manual entries it would be an ideal situation.

I spent most of today adding code to send the grid and send a limit trade catch the pull backs.

Gertje has a copy. Bugs are a racing certainty and the methodology will need refining, so I will not be releasing it until we know it is working as intended.

In the meantime, possess your souls in patience. Spend some time drooling over the amount of profit this thingy could generate. Maybe browse the price of islands in the sun and the cost of the yacht to get you there.

Yep, the replicator sure helps a lot, saves me a ton of work and time.
Still I add the occasional order here and there, but have no idea yet if my elbow grease is aiding the strategy or not.
I have the experimental version from Steve on a new demo to see what is happening, and then we can compare between my live and experimental accounts.

Anybody have an idea how to easily see how many limit orders were triggered?

See the huge spikes, during all this the ASK didn’t move a pip, so sells had no chance to close.
What would they be planning?
