If I may suggest - this MTF indi (SIXTHS SQ_mod1.2.mq4) should be added to post 1 and so its name into the user guide.

Hello all. Don't know if anyone has experienced this before and if so, any suggestions as to resolving it will be most appreciated. For some reason, sometimes PoS (I have also experienced it with HGB CP. Thus the only two I have experienced it with so far) just keeps disappearing and reappearing on the chart it is attached to (ie. like flashing on and off). Not a clue why this happens. And when it does happen, removing and re-attaching the EA , or even closing and reopening Empty4 does not resolve the issue. I have to basically re-install a fresh Empty4 to get it working normally again! Many thanks

That sounds like something similar that happened to me quite a long time ago now. I can't recall exactly how I resolved it but I think I put the EA on a currency chart that wasn't active in the EA. Does that make sense? Let me try again; create a new chart window using a currency which isn't used by the EA. Put the EA on that chart and see if that stops the flashing.

Hello traveliron, thanks for the response. The EA is on USDSGD chart, which is not a pair I trade (ie. not in the list of the pairs to trade by the EA). Thanks

No, there are numerous indi’s for that.
I want to see if the orders were triggered as stop-, or limit-orders.
This way I can measure how much influence Rene’s EA has on the totall.

EDIT; I can scroll through the history files and find out, but maybe someone has an easier way.

This question got me thinking about an indicator for this purpose.

As far as I know there is not an indi that logs every trade operation that's happening on the account -- at least I haven't been able to find it. So, I "hacked" (to use GertJan's terms to describe my coding) together this TradeLogger indicator. It will open a file in the \Files space, with the name <accountNumber>.csv and log every trade operation it 'sees'. That includes: open, close, modify and create/fill/delete (of pending trades) operations.

You can tell the indicator to watch everything (by setting the MagicNumber to -1 (the default)), or just trades with a given MagicNumber.

This is really an alpha-release: I foresee quite a few changes to the code before it is stable. One limitation I know of: If you open the csv file with Excel (or LibreOffice or something like that), the file is locked and Empty4 can not add new lines to it (there is an error message to that effect). You can open it with Notepad++ (that will popup a box each time the file is changed).

Thingy is, we Old Stagers ('Grizzled Ole Veterans'? 'Grumpy Old Bastards'?) have been at this stuff for a while. Our understanding is light years away from where it was a decade ago.

I often think that if the SHF equivalent was available back then, it would not exist now because it would not be needed.

We are cutting a decade off the learning journey of any new member prepared to take the time to learn. If we have not quite got this retail Forex trading business cracked just yet, then we are damn close.

I can testify to this, I was working on my own EA similar just to find out everything I was working on was perfected on this forum. Months of sleepless nights doing research and calculations trying to develop my own personal grail based off of the TMA slope but once I found SHF I have learned so much in 4 months than my last 3 years of studies in forex. Its a very beautiful thing to see community that supports its members while working on multiple projects together.

What passes for my brain has not been churning automated trading ideas for the first time for a decade. Maybe we are finally winning? Perhaps we finally have a huge legacy to leave to our descendants? Fingers crossed, OK?
