Absolutely. My test was even near 600 pips one time.

The database results confirm it: Best performance had the 500 (1 close) and the 250 (2 closes) pips basket targets, followed by 100 (4 closes) and 50 (5 closes).

Of course it is way too early to draw any conclusions. But very interesting to follow and very promising.

Been interesting to watch the last few days since I started running this, I've seen it as high as 400 pips about 4 times but it's currently closed down about 100 pips for the weekend.

Would it make sence to extend the grid >5 trades in order to profit from a real runner?

There will be a grid size where you clearly overtrade. A grid can become very ugly when a spike turns against you. Another strategy could be to keep the grid a constant size, i.e. adding a new trade when one gets filled, but with a time delay to prevent spikes triggering it.

As soon as our running tests have shown clear results or it shows we have unused additional resources , we could set up a test series for this singular aspect. Like gridsize 3/5/7/10/15 with/without ATR.

Hey Thomas,

I had my Empty4's up, ready for the start of the trading day, when, at 00:01am Monday, SPB-1 and SPB-2 began trying to send orders.
I changed the MondayStartHour to 7 (though, here in Deadelaide, the market opens at 6:30am in winter, and 8:30am in summer), and it's all good now.

Yes, I've set the rollover time to 9:00pm to 9:20pm broker time, but since my broker doesn't update the server time over the weekend, it's currently reporting 11:59pm Friday, so that shouldn't have caused SPB's 1 & 2 to start sending orders at midnight.

I changed MondayStartTime to 7:am, as it is based on local time, and now they are quiet as mice

Hi Radar.

The rollover time is the only input that keeps SPB from trying to trade on weekends. The weekend rollover time is from Friday 23:55 to Monday 0:15. So if you change it, SPB will try to trade on the weekend.

Your setup looks wrong. I don't know a single broker having a different rollover time (server time) than the others. This is a global market and the rollover with its spread widening happens to all brokers at the same time. And that is 17:00 New York time. The market opens on Monday and closes on Friday at that time. Like you wrote, your market is still closed and should be in rollover mode now to prevent the bot from trading.

Please observe the spreads and tell me when (in server time, not local time) the spread widening does occur. I bet it is around 24:00, even at your broker.

You persuaded me to add the rollover thingy input to the bots. I think this was a mistake, as no one will ever have to change them. Possibly I will remove them again if I am not given a good reason to leave them there.

Hey Thomas,

I speak on the phone with my broker every fortnight, and have verfied the rollover times with them, (9:00pm to 9:20pm). I thought the times were unusual myself, so asked for confirmation a few times. If you're still in doubt, feel free to call them on +44-2033185978 to verify.

edit... Just checked their website... Hotforex have rollover set at midnight GMT (see: Rollover Time)... Their server is currently at GMT+3 (Northern Hemisphere DST), (see: Trading Hours), which makes current rollover on their server 9:00pm... In Northern Hemisphere standard time, their server is set to GMT+2 which will make rollover on their server occur at 10:pm. As for why they chose midnight GMT, rather than midnight server time, who knows?

Hi Thomas

I have setup FXT-SPB-1 (magic number 0) and FXT-SPB-2 (magic number 1) on the same terminal and updated the Etherpad (FXT-SPB-2 set to 50/8). I am only running the one 'Trade2MySQLConnector' with MagicNumbers=-1

Hopefully I have the setup correct :youknow:
