Need help understand how an indicator calculating value.

I am trying to understand how an indicator works in calculating the value. The purpose of this indicator for me is to track the cycle of an instrument, often in unison with 1 and 2 higher time frames. It uses the same principle of over bough at 80 and oversold at 20 principle of a regular stochastic and with divergence. My understanding is that it works like a double smooth stochastic but when I try to do double smooth, the value is not the same. It seems like the indicator is first calculates ema of the stochastic for period of 13, and then use this value to further ema stochastic again for period of 8 for the value and period of 9 for signal. Any help to shed some light into my slow brain of understanding would greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
