Peaky on Steroids

I just love this.
Manipulation at it’s best, and PoS takes full advantage of it.

1. “They”spike it down to shake down the weak out of the tree.
2. On some BS news (slightly negative for NZD!) the pairs skyrockets, abling PoS to close the basket for a nearly 2% profit.
3. The market withdraws, and PoS jumps right into it again with a new original trade.



And the best part: it’s happening while I’m on holiday in France!!!

After I have upgraded to v1j, the PoS could not be launched, here is the error found on expert tab:

After v1j was loaded, the EA just hanged on on "Initialising Please Wait." for several hours.


Could it be the error that cause it to be not launched?

The caused as you have mentioned is correct. I have opened (pending?)trades on the platform with different comments. I have changed to default comment setting and deleted different comment pending orders. There is another error with different "array out of range in "Peaky on Steroid.mq4" (1087,45)". I Did not set any magic no. The EA still could not launched.

Just so you folks know, the bot loads just fine when all four time frames are enabled.

I tried it with two of them disabled and there was the array out of range error. I will sort that out this afternoon - I know what the cause is.

I have added this note to post 1:

Note about disabling time frames; make sure you do this from the trade 4 time frame upwards i.e. TradeTF4=false first, then TradeTF3=false and so on. PoS will stall unless you do this.

I have reverted to V 1i in post 1. I tried to sort out the 1j array out of range error but LUC came round with all its buddies for the bender of the decade, so I gave up. 1i has the additional lines of code that I mentioned the other day.

Someone here was talking about automating the sixths or some such; I didn't understand. I have time on my hands now that school has broken up, so if you would care to explain in short sentences containing one syllable words, I will see what I can do.

A quick update on how my demo account is doing so far.
I first posted about it in this post and back then I was really happy because the demo had reached +500%.

Well, now my demo is at +1000%. In only 2 months it gained another 500%... I bet that's the compounded growth that is kicking in.

The account statistics are pretty impressive as well, with an outstanding win rate of 75% on both long and shorts.

Also, last month I went live. So far so good...

Very often though the equity was swinging back and forth, one moment gaining +5/10% and the next one loosing -15/20%.
Considering the statistics of my demo account I thought it appropriate to close all of the pairs that were in profit, leaving on the table only the ones that were still loosing. If the demo stats are right they will go into profit sooner or later.
Doing so, I was able to close at +5.01% on the 24th and +4.71% on the 26th; this may be a viable way of helping PoS to make the most out of price fluctuation as Pos immediately placed a new pending after closing some pairs.

What do you guys think about this, should I close pairs that are making good profits, or should I let PoS take its course with no intervention at all?

The answer you are looking for is in my first post...

On the same 17th I then configured Gertje PoS v1e mad100/150/200 H4-D1 set files just to see how it performed.

I am still using those set files untouched and all thanks should go to Lord Gertje for his kindness and his generosity at the time of sharing his knowledge with us mortals.

I also agree with the hands-off approach you mention and for that reason, I will never, ever add positions even if my guts say I could.
What I want to understand is if just closing positions that are in profit will favour PoS on the long run or if this may end up damaging overall profit.
Mind that when I close positions, I just close all positions related with a single pair like in the example below related to USDCHF.

Here you can see position that opened on the 26th of June on the H4 timeframe on USDCHF.
The position went immediately into DD only to go positive again once at around the 9th of July.
Then recovery kicked in, on both the 16th and 17th of July.
DD kept growing though, as right after opening on the 17th, price spiked up again.
On the 24th then, once price retraced I took the chance and closed all H4 positions for a small profit.
Right after doing so a new pending was set right where the first trade was placed on the 26/06.

Needless to say, I am now sleeping better at night as if price will keep going up then I'll have no DD as all positions are closed, but on the other end if price will start falling (like it should as it always had followed the 6th rule so far) then the new pending will kick in, either closing for a profit straight or repeating the recovery proceed again.

Notice also that in the bunch there is a D1 position, opened on the 28/06 and manually closed as well on 20/7. Here PoS did not set a new pending, but still I sleep like a baby at night with my extra pocketed 6 euros...
