Hi Ben
thanks for reply and efforts. Your fisher TD indicator is working perfectly with no issues observed. My current set-up is running 17 pairs from Tdesk and it is fine.

cheers

Hi @all,

UPDATE 2018-10-10 in post 2

Fisher_yur4ik_NoRepSL TD V2 pg_v1
(Fisher version with SignalLine and Levels requested by pacinvest. This version only works for the chart TF.)
Please, can someone make the MTF working? I have tried many things but my coding skill is just too low.

fisher_yur4ik1NoRepSigL v1
(Fisher version with SignalLine and Levels. Only for chart TF to check the signals.)

Cheers

Hmmmm. Not entirely sure what you are talking about here.

You might care to post an indi file, or at least a link to said file. Not many of us are going to bother going hunting for it.

Not that I care - I am a million miles from wanting to get involved in this. I am just pointing out that not many of us are mind-readers and that you might need to be a tad on the more informational side if you want a response. Others here might understand you better but as I read you, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Hi Ben
Thanks for your efforts, I will look at your Fisher updates today.
Ben just for clarity for now it might be worth having two separate indies that are named something like:
1) fisher slope
2) fisher zero cross

The other variations like a 'value levels' filter or combining any of slope, value level, zero cross could all be added to contribute to a signal but the first two single purpose indies would be valuable and especially so in TD V2 mtf format. Message to the coding team and Steve, this little indy project can simmer and be solved in time I appreciate that there is a massive amount of exciting stuff going on in the background here - Desky - so exciting............................I missed out on some good NY market moves last night sleeping in my NZ bed, Desky will never sleep................

TDesk - Trend Indicator using smoothed HA

Bruster400 » 05 Oct 2018, 12:14 wrote:Hi all,

Very exciting times! As a predominately manual, trend-based trader, my strategies revolve around defining the trend and then taking bites out of this direction with a suitable signal. Often the trend is defined at a higher timeframe and then the signals are created on a lower timeframe. The problem with this is that you have to use MTF indicators if you want to see everything on one chart and there are "wet paint" issues with doing this.

My preference has been to find a trend indicator that can show a trend on your signal timeframe (in my case H1) without too much noise - not flipping from one direction to another. I've taken one of my favourites and made it TDesk compatible so I thought I'd share it here.

The base indicator is a smoothed Heiken Ashi but it is shown as a single line rather than bars - essentially the line just follows the mid point between what would have been the high and low of the HAS bars. ((H+L)/2). The default settings have served me well but I've left them free to be fiddled with.

BUT!!! This is not a MTF indicator and therefore you can not set the timeframe on which it is based. If you're TDesk is set to load up H4 charts then you'll get this trend from an H4 perspective. If you change timeframes on your charts then the signals back to TDesk will change. If you're happy to stick with one timeframe then this will work for you.

Enjoy,

Bruster.

EDIT 08/10/2018: Updated as some users reported updating issues.
Hi Bruster.

An alternative way to achieve something very similar with a lightweight, timeframe-independent V2-compatible indicator is to:

* Load AllAverages TD V2
* Set "Price" to 7 = Heikin Ashi Close
* Set MA-Method to 1 = EMA
* Set Period to 42

Yes, the last smoothing bit is missing. But the curve is nearly the same (compare them) and it is a working V2 type indicator. You can change chart timeframes to your heart's content, it always signals and draws right.

Cheers

Steve,

You are totally right!

Thank you for taking time to kindly advise me.

My lesson learned is that cryptic messages with too little info does not save space and time but lead to questions, confusion and unnecessary questions.
I will reformulate my post and have this in mind and work on my improvement for the future.

Thank you for your tremendous work and never ending creativity.

Thomas,

You are of course correct, it's very close to my HAS trend with the settings you've given. On the H1 timeframe that's a perfect alternative but you would then have to find an alternative setting to match the H4 etc.

As a challenge to myself, I've coded a MTF version. I find that the H4 setting on a H1 chart gives a good overall trend - it's similar, but slightly faster than a D1 only SuperSlope. The H1 setting on the H1 chart is then a signal.

Regards, Bruster.

Notes:

- It will keep it's signal if you don't move to a TF higher than the one you've chosen
- It won't work if you don't have enough history

Hi Bruster,

Here is the "2MA Cross TD V2 pg_v1" indicator with your HAS settings.
I called it HA Bruster TD V2 pg_v1.

It seems to work as your HAS but probably with less load on your computer.
You can choose how many bars back you want to load and also if you want to include the open bar.

Please, let me know if it works or not.

Cheers
Ben

Edit 2019-05-13
Change of name from "HA Bruster TD V2 pg_v1" to "HA Clone TD V2 pg_v1".

Hi,

Yes, this is a very close alternative to the HAS trend - particularly at H4. Maybe my time could have been better spent rather than coding the MTF HAS version!! :( I did however find the H1 2MA indi to be a little "fast" compared to the HAS indi and it produces false signals on minor pull backs. I'm sure this could be resolved by increasing the period of the fast MA slightly so it probably just needs some tuning. I like the way the HAS is fast and yet smooth - it doesn't flip one way and then the other as much as the 2MA version. I've included a picture to show what I mean but like I say, I'm sure this could be resolved so people just need to use whichever one suits them.

I'm sure you are right about the 2MA indi being better for anyone with cpu load issues but I haven't found any major drain with the HAS trend tbh.

Thanks

Bruster.

Hi Bruster,

Your “HAS Trend” is a very clever and really useful indicator.
It is perfect when viewing the charts and doing MTF analysis and is very stable compared to other trend indicators.

For Tdesk when only following the signals I think a lightweight version can be useful as a complement.
Attached is Thomas’s “RSI Cross TD V2” modified to give the same signals as “HAS Trend”.

Please, check if the signals are accurate enough.

Thank you for sharing this valuable indicator.

Cheers
Ben
