Hopelessly confused by TDesk or Desky? Ask here.

Hi Guys,

Just a little fun. Amazing how we all try our own things. I am truly greatful to Steve in making us do some thinking before we post here. I was in a dilemma myself this morning by not being able to get TDesk to work and tried from clearing my global variables file to deleting and re-installing and what what - A NON CODERS DILEMMA. I finally decided that I will wait for Thomas to respond to the brave souls that have posted querries here. Thanks Thomas for your patience.

This is a serious suggestion based on the fact that Empty4 was bollocks when it was originally coded by a couple of monkeys.

It has not got any less bollocks with the passage of time, yet we bombard it with stuff it was never designed to cope with. The Monkeys have made half-hearted attempts at keeping up but they lack the brains to do so.

Here is the serious suggestion: when all else fails, delete the instance of Empty4 from your machine altogether and start again.

when I try to put Desky on an emty chart I get following error message:
2018.10.14 10:39:50.762 cannot open file 'C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\C3F66413A43118674B86C323F6F7AC92\MQL4\Experts\TDesk Trading Partner EA.ex4' [2]

This happens with the last two versions of desky. The very first version works fine. I could not try the versions between the first and the two last because I missed to download them.
Maybe you've got an idea what I'm doing wrong?

@thomas1386, the last version loads correctly.
From the main menu of your platform, click File, then Open Data Folder.
You will see the MQL4 folder, open it, then put the EA inside the Experts folder you will see there.
Restart your platform.
Or try opening the file in Metaeditor and compile it. See if you get error messages, you shouldn't. Check loading it again.

I activated TDesky today for the first time.
After one hour from day open my Empty4 account was disabled due to HyperActivity.
I got hundreds/thousands of signals from 3-4 pairs. All opened and closed immediately.

According to Metaquotes guidelines, an account is considered hyperactive when it exceeds 2,000 messages per day. My server messages have exceeded 5,000 already.

My Multi Signals Thresholds 50/25, Solo Signals Thresholds 100/70.

Any advise?

I am one of the confused ones.

My problem:
1) Most TD-indicators can't be loaded. (All except STO7 D1 MA TREND 10 SMA LWMA TD)
2) Desky can't be loaded.

I have tried to delete existing indicators/experts + mqlcache.dat in the manner Tomele has described elsewhere.

I have opened a new "clean" Empty4 and downloaded the needed indicators/experts.

I have compiled the problematic indicators and they show many errors.

But the problem persists. Only TDesk and STO7 D1 MA TREND 10 SMA LWMA TD can be loaded.

I understand that this probably is a local problem, as it seems I am the only one that can't play with this new toy. Any ideas what to do?

First problem I can see is your indicators have the wrong name. Obviously you've downloaded them multiple times.

Delete the brackets and numbers before the extension eg. (1) (2) etc

STOCH7 SMA LWMA TD V2(2).ex4 should be STOCH7 SMA LWMA TD V2.ex4 etc

You also need TDesk.mqh in your /Include folder.

Attached is the indi I have coded to help automate my SS/Candle pattern trading at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 84#p164184

The indi generates the signals just fine. What I cannot do is persuade it to send them to TDesk. Could someone who actually understands this stuff have a quick look please, and see if you can spot what I am doing wrong - just follow the, "// TDesk code" comments to see what I have done.
