Hopelessly confused by TDesk or Desky? Ask here.

I have configured TDesk to give me alerts based only on SuperSignal. The possible signals that you get are:

- Flat to Short
- Flat to Long
- Long to Flat
- Short to Flat

Now the problem is that the signals change within a few pips and you get the alerts piling up for the same currency from Flat to Short to Flat to Short to Flat and so on.

Since I don't care when it goes from Long to Flat or from Short to Flat could I somehow skip the alerts that go to Flat? The reason is that if I am already in the trade then I am not going to close it after a minute because it went to Flat and back and forth. I am only interested in the alerts that go F to L or F to S if that makes any sense.

Is that possible? I went through the settings but I don't seem to find a way to do it. Hope I haven't missed anything obvious.

OR maybe a good idea would be to be able to silence a signal on the same direction if you have already opened a trade on that direction.

Have you set the entry and exit thresholds of Solo and/or Multi Signals to the same values? Only then you can get that flip-flopping. Read the instructions again. There is a reason why different entry and exit thresholds are provided as inputs.

It would be possible, but unnecessary. Set the exit thresholds to -100, which means a 100% signal on the opposite side. They should never be triggered again.

Hi,
I have had this problem several times,but not with the indicators i actually use for TDesk.
I have resolved this issue by just recompiling them with metaeditor.

Actually, your advice is THE answer to my question. I can see all the signals just by looking at the chart hosting TDesk anyway so the alerts are not really needed. So, thank you!

Thank you for your reply. It actually makes sense as you explained it. Setting Solo to -100 (the idea that it can be set to a negative value had escaped me) plus setting the Super Signal exit alerts to come just from the Solo signals was the right combination. Thanks for your help!

Hi Steve,
when I try to put Desky on an emty chart I get following error message:
2018.10.14 10:39:50.762 cannot open file 'C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\C3F66413A43118674B86C323F6F7AC92\MQL4\Experts\TDesk Trading Partner EA.ex4' [2]

This happens with the last two versions of desky. The very first version works fine. I could not try the versions between the first and the two last because I missed to download them.
Maybe you've got an idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Tomele,
I tried everything as you told me. I found out that when I compile desky I get the error shown in the screenshot. I then erased line 3599 and 3600 and after that desky started. Nothing else worked.

I read manual for desky and I don't understand this one:

"◦ EveryTickMode: this tells Desky to send trades only at the open of a new
candle. Remember that Desky makes no trading decisions on his own so
indicators so indicators might need adapting. Take an example:
▪ You are trying this: buy SuperSlope D1 and H4 line up long, the H1 crosses
from negative to positive. The H1 had to close negative two candles ago and
positive at the close of the previous candle.
▪ SuperSlope is not coded to send this signal to TDesk and so would need
considerable adaptation."

This means that SuperSlope showing signals in TDesk, but not working with Desky?
