Wavegarrick's HGI Trading

Post by Wavegarrick »

Hi Pacer,

Nice to see you back. Don't ever give up on something you believe in. Focus and re-focus. What seems hopeless at the time of entry will(should) go back in your direction. I know, I have lost focus many times in my trading lifespan but one thing I have always learnt is to get back to the things I am comfortable with and expand on that. Who knows, you might just be one of those guys showing us all alot of things in future ;)

I have some trade examples from a live trading account and as always I look at Hgi, my stochs and Baluda's superslope. Notice how nice entries become when the stoch 7 Ma entries expand (iow move further away from each other), and we have a Superslope cross together with an Hgi Hourly signal. A very good combination in my opinion.

Have a great week and not forgetting Xmas is upon us. Who knows, we might have a nice Xmas run.

Cheers
Leon

Leon,

Thank you very much for the encouragement as well as the examples you posted.

I was a bit lost between H1, H4, wavies etc and I am sure you know how easy it is to deviate and start trading something that looks 50% similar to the original plan. :arrrg:

I ll try to follow your lead. I know that what you gave us here works. Its just that I need to restrain the clown inside of me.

Lets see if I can post some nice trades. It would be a nice present for the holidays.

Thanks again!

A lot of good opportunities for the manual trading method this week.

I'm still searching for the best way to take profit. Currently I use the next big support or resistance.

Thank you for your answer.

Can you tell me if you still use peaky as a filter?
I wondered about this setup on NZD/JPY, however peaky would suggest only short on that pair.

Thanks

At this stage I use Peaky as a visual filter only based on the 4hr timeframe 1682 Bars ago. If you look at peaky on my daily chart you will see that we had a perfect bounce off our mid peaky level (I have highlighted it with green on the white line) We are coming off the bottom peaky support zone and working up towards the upper peaky zone. You will also see that I use yearly pivots and we are coming off yearly medium support one at 77.767. I would not be surprised if we end the year towards my yearly pivot at 79.814 which is also on my monthly resistance 1 at 79.618. Anyway, these are visual tools only which give me confidence in my trade, but it is really immaterial in this system, as we are riding the Waves. If we swing back down before we reach 79.814 we will be in on the short trade and so forth. It is important however, for me to know where we could be heading from a broader perspective.

I will update LittleCaro's attachment, she sent a few day's ago with the visual tools I use on the weekend.

Cheers
Leon

Hi C1borg,
how are you closing your trades I notice you have close on opposite signal set to true, is that the only exit point?
Yes. That is the only exit point and it is followed by an immediate opposite entry trade. This is a simple as you can get.

My hope is to leave this standalone and not interfere manually whatsoever. Sometimes you give back pips that could have been taken with manual intervention in the smaller retrace moves, my hope is to catch the bigger waves. I have thought about setting a basket profit with my overall profit currently on 1500 pips in open trades, but I find that it de-synchronizes my system and could take a number of hits before the system synchronizes again.

Cheers
Leon

Edit: Crumbs I forgot that I am posting this in my manual thread. Anyway you'll get my drift. I have gone automated on my system.

Hi LittleCaro,
Thanks a lot for that explanation, very interesting point.
Just to add onto this. I only have 262 pips in profitable trades booked (closed) for the week. Monday and tuesday were winning days and so far today 102 pips in losing trades closed with an open basket of 1200 pips in profitable trades left on the table. Patience remains important, as long as I can see that the Ea is booking consistant profits. I don't mind losing days as long as my open basket remains reasonably constant but I try not to panic or be greedy, by closing all trades because I know that tomorrow it can come back and bite me. I say this because I am trading this live ;) ... Just some stuff to look at.

Anyway, Steve is coming up with some real cool stuff with the Tdesk trading drone and I would be really interested in multi trading fresh Tdesk signals.
I never intended gridding and multi-trading fresh TDesk signals to mix, so I will enforce the separation in the next release.
Cheers
Leon
