I am very new to this thread. I have downloaded the latest version HGI v17 from the first post and installed in Empty4. However I don't see the template explained in the thread. Can someone guide me what are the indicators and the template need to be downloaded to use this system efficiently. And also is there any EA for this system?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Regards,
Alwin
the template is outdated, read the entire thread before again asking something, especially read http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =88&t=5514

Like many before me, this thread has prompted my first post on this forum after reading all 269 pages so far. Almost exactly a year ago I started the new trading year with a resolution to bin all indicators and I never looked back. I became profitable as a naked trader for the first time and slowly began to crack the code, and resolved never to touch another indicator again... so it has come as a massive shock to me to find that HGI outperforms other indicators in a way I never thought possible. I can see that Bob and his team of coders have come up with something quite unique here that leaves all competitors in its wake. I have always prided myself on designing my own systems and feel I have a good idea of how much blood, sweat and tears went into the development of what we see today, and I am most grateful. A donation to Compassion will be made once I am back at my trading desk in January.

If any new traders have decided to skip to the end of the current thread and find themselves here, don't be lazy. Read all the pages and learn from the development. It drives me crazy to see the kindness of some people here being taken advantage of, giving away years of experience for free and only to be told to repeat their answer from a few pages back because someone couldn't be bothered to read. If you take the time to enrich your education, that behaviour might rub off on your trading performance too.

As for how I use HGI with success, it has been mentioned a few times throughout the thread that there are as many ways to use it as there are traders on this forum. A Holy Grail it may be, but only to those who have understood that trading is simple, but it isn't easy and everyone must find their own path. I have found two posts earlier on that pretty much sum up how I also work with HGI to get the most out of it, and again if you've skipped to the end then don't miss out on these gems:

HGI_17.00v and HGI_Lib settings??

Post by KingHigh »

Milanese,

I am a bit confused about the “ignore future” setting on HGI_Lib(1).exe and HGI_V17.00(1).exe.

The release notes on HGI_V17.0(1) say “ignore future” defaults to TRUE (with "no future function" ) Which I interpret to mean TMA slope calc use iMA - MODE_LWMA ( not looking at future bars for calcs).

From page 1: HGI_v17.00.ex4
the extended version, with "no future function" and Hurst formula embedded
expires June 1st, 2019 needs min. Empty4 build 1090

I load HGI_V17.00(1) as released on chart and then run a test indy that uses HGI_Lib(1).exe to generate the 10 HGI signals. THEY MATCH – that is the signals from each are the same – visible objects and calculated values from HGI_Lib(1) .

I click on the HGI_17.00(1) indy and it shows that “ignore future” defaults to FALSE. This leads me to believe that the lib is same and it’s “ignore future” defaults to FALSE as well. Maybe I don’t know what "no future function" means.

Thanks

You right the default is false, you have manually to set the ignore future function to on. This was changed in that way as the ignore future function has no better results and 17.00 is still publicized, because of it's Hurst ability and the possibility for the user to play around with the no future function.
The hgi_lib is identical to 16.09 HGI there was never a lib for 17.00.

Cheers :)

Scalping the 1 minute charts pre Brexit vote on GBPUSD, using HGI with Ichimoku indi and Bob's 10.9 Pivot Boxes.

Simple rules: We are below the Daily Pivot, so I only look to sell. Price must be below the cloud to sell, and red line below the blue line (I can never remember the names of the lines). Stop loss is if a candle closes above the blue line. Look to close trades at DS1 and then again at DS2. Note that somewhere along the way, price also broke back below the Weekly Pivot. You can add to your position with the Big Red Arrows.

Nice side benefit - At DS2 I closed out some leftover sell trades.

Happy Trading! If you know where GBPUSD will be tomorrow, send me a PM so I can finally make my fortune!

Under the idea posted many times on SHF that charts repeat themselves on different timeframes, I pulled up GBPUSD on the 4-hour chart back in May to compare against today's 1 minute chart. You could have traded the 4-hour chart over a month's time, adding to your position with the big arrows and having a very good month indeed!

Happy Trading!

Interesting idea. Testing it now. Will see how it works out.
