Ditto - Empty4 to Oanda Trade Copier - As Low as 0.00001

If you are a U.S. trader, then Lonnie is your hero!

I ran ditto on an FX Choice demo linking to two tiny live Oanda accounts, each stocked with $25.00 of my hard earned money. I was sending orders starting at $5 and incrementing by $1. Just traded GBPUSD, EURUSD, AUDUSD to keep things simple. The Ditto link did its thing seamlessly and seemingly instantaneously.

Less than 24 hours later I closed all remaining open trades and booked my 16 cents profit. I am a happy camper!

I just finished converting my Peaky Fifo demo account to start sending signals to my Live Oanda Peaky Fifo account. Worked seamlessly, adding all of the trades the Peaky Fifo demo had that my live account was missing, and of course closing all of the live account trades that I had open that were no longer open in the Demo.

There's my one word of warning - if you use this on an existing account, it will close any open trades that don't match your Empty4 platform. This is fine for me. Peaky will now be perfectly synced.

The very good news is that I am running two Ditto Links at once so far on the same Windows 10 desktop with no problems. This lets me keep separate strategies in separate Oanda sub accounts with very different lot sizes, which is kind of a personal preference thing. I will be adding a couple of more, so I'll keep a close watch to make sure everything looks good.

Spectacular stuff, Lonnie!! It's like coming out of the dark forest and joining the real world!

Uploaded version 1.1.1 of Ditto and DittoLink

Improved the displayed error messages of DittoLink and now showing additional information in the header of the console. With Ditto there was an issue when an account name was given that already was in use which was causing the original account to crash. Additional configuration checks were implemented within Ditto. Also changed the version numbers to semantic versioning.

Current test is copying 42 trades so far and working exactly as it should. Hope to add the ability to copy Stops and Take Profits in the next update.

Lonnie, what great work on Ditto! The Peaky Fifo conversion is working great. The original $25.00 accounts are still running as well with a Sixths EA I set up a while back on a 15 minute timeframe. I've set up two additional accounts to run something based on Wavegarrick's HGI on Tdesk, and I'll set up another two accounts this week to run a version of Slopey Peaky Bob - Thomas, I see is outdoing himself again! That will leave four instances of Ditto running at the same time. So far, everything is running great!

If you don't have a fortune to invest in forex, this also allows a person of more modest means to run multiple strategies live. Happy times here!

Uploaded version 1.2.1 of Ditto

Performed a little cleanup by adding tooltips to all objects, some of which give additional information. Also pending trades are now shown in non expanded rows as a blue number between the short/long trade counts.

Squashed a few bugs. See post #1 for specifics.

Margin calculations are now shown for individual trades, positions and the account as a whole.

I am still planning to add the ability to copy stop/target to trades, but unfortunately have a busy week ahead. This feature will likely be postponed until the end of next week.

Hey Lonnie,

I will give it a try. I have three sessions running simultaneously on one station and they are running great. I have a fourth session that is supposed to be coping Slopey Peaky Bob traders, and everything says it is connected, but no trades show up on Oanda. I thought it was the Empty4 platform, so I tried a different broker/demo, but no luck so far. It's practically spooky. I'll see if it magically goes away with the update. If not, I'll try a few other things or try to set it up on another station and see if that makes a difference.

Absolutely great stuff! This is the biggest development out there for U.S. traders. Soon, we'll have to find a way to let those Oanda users know about it.

The only thing that should cause trades to not copy would be an incorrect magic number. I am currently running Ditto with the SPB version from "The 100,000 pips SPB Challenge" without issue.

LOL - That's what i'm trying to do. i'll play around with it. I feel certain it's like when you are trying to fix a bug in a program and spend about 547 hours staring at it and having nothing you try work, then someone else comes up behind you, looks at the screen for about three seconds without knowing your agony, and says, "How come that line of coding is outside of the loop - i wouldn't think it would work..."

Success!! Must have been a bad file because once I downloaded everything again, it all connected fine. It did bring up a question, however. When I first couldn't get Slopey Peaky Bob to work, it was on a Traders Way demo. I noticed when i was just looking at another Traders Way demo i'm running that they have an 'i' as an extension to the pairs - AUDUSDi

Will Ditto work okay with an extension on the pairs?

I just installed a Trader's Way demo to look at things. As it stands now it will not work. I will have to code the option to have an extension on the Empty4 side and then convert it on the fxT side. It will take a bit of time, so I am going to have to save that one for a future release.
