Just made an IDE for MQL4

I must have something wrong with my install. F1 does nothing -- no popup, no nothing. I also don't get parameter hints. (I assume that's supposed to be activated by Ctrl-Space or similar?) Ctrl-Space displays a list of keywords, but I don't think they're MQL.

I tried exiting and restarting and that didn't help.

it's really weird, do you extract the whole thing into a folder and execute the scite.exe? is your file being recognized as MQL? does everything work after you go to "Language" and select "MQL"?

Duh!! That's my problem. I'd opened up a new file to experiment in, and hadn't yet saved it with a .mq4 filename. So naturally the editor didn't know it was MQL. Save it as *.mq4, or open a *.mq4 file, and F1 works fine. I also get the popup parameter hints &etc properly.

The first few entries seem to be a bloop on the API help file, I'll register it as a bug and resolve it next time. Thanks for testing out!

F1 and CTRL+Space works fine for me too...just to give response...the code completion is also a great feature and allows to shorten the typing...
When I type a function and open the parenthesis it shows a info for this function. is there any possibility to see this info again after I closed the parenthesis. a shortkey or something like that?

NP, Ctrl+Shift+Space, it's called "Show Calltips" under "Edit". Of course check the reference doc will give you thorough explanations.

Doesn't work for me...

What criminal do you use? Would you provide what's the title text on the Empty4 window, similar to what Steve took on previous post?

PFGBest - this is the demo, I also have a live account. Should I try this on my FXCM demo account on the same machine?

DUH - I downloaded the software again, unzipped and copied to my target directory - BAM - works now.
Long story short on the fix - Probably didn't install it correctly, possibly downloaded the earlier version. All in all it was a false alarm.

Thanks for the tool, and the time spent on this non-sense issue I had.

Put your cursor inside the parentheses, or to the right of the open-paren if you haven't typed the close-paren yet. It looks like F1 only works when the cursor is on the function name (left of the open paren) and Ctrl-Shift-Space only works when you're to the right of the open paren.

And make sure you're editing a .mq4 file. I've heard some yahoo tried it with a non-mq4 file.
