SERIOUS WARNING
  • Most Forex traders lose all their money.
  • Using the robot posted here in trading Forex does not guarantee success.
  • Trading this robot could lead to serious financial loss.
  • Trading this robot without understanding its underlying trading strategies guarantees traders will lose their money.
  • This is not a set-and-forget ea; there is no such thing and anyone who tries to claim there is, is either stupid or lying. This ea requires frequent manual intervention.
  • At best, a trading robot is only 90% as good as the manual strategy it trades. At best. At worst, it can be much less effective. If the strategy is rubbish, so is the robot.
  • To trade this robot, you have to understand:
MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS POST http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 41#p111241 There was a Forex bloodbath on Jan 15th 2015 that you need to know about.

You need the "SPB core library.mqh" file in your platform's Include folder. Download it from viewtopic.php?p=159559#p159559

This EA uses a swing high/low to generate a trade in the direction indicated by your choice of Super Slope and Peaky inputs. It uses the Slopey Peaky Bob engine found at viewtopic.php?p=159559#p159559. Read SPB's User guide for information about everything apart from using the Fractals indicator.

We coders talk in terms of candle 'shift'. Shift 0 is NOW. Shift 1 is one candle ago. Shift 2 is two candles ago etc. This defies the normal mathematical convention of numbers to the left of zero being minus numbers but learn to live with it. CrapQl4 coding defies logic at every step, so welcome to my world. :arrrg:

A 'swing' is a 5 candle pattern:
  • A swing high is: the high of shifts 4 and 5, 1 and 2, are lower than the high of shift 3.
  • A swing low is: the low of shifts 4 and 5, 1 and 2, are higher than the low of shift 3.
There is an indicator that highlights these swings - Fractals. Find it in your platform's Navigator/Indicators/Bill Williams window. SPSB uses this indi to spot the swings but you do not need it on your chart for the bot to work. I might post some pics when I am in the right mood.

The perceived wisdom is: buy the dips; sell the rallies.

This means that:
  • in an uptrend we wait for the market to fall then rise again forming a swing low before buying.
  • in a downtrend we wait for the market to rise then rise again forming a swing high before selling.
Here, our combo of SS and Peaky define the 'trend' and then the swing gets us into a trade.

Hi

What is the condition to close the trade on the OOTB defaults for the EA? All baskets closure variables are set to false. Is it the contrary swing that will close the positions?

PS: thanks a lot for all the goodies to play with just amazing! I finally manage to contribute to FXT with a VPS

I expect users to work out how to use an EA for themselves. OOTB inputs are irrelevant.
