Maybe I'm just an anal-retentive over-analyzing geek (shut up Steve ) but what I'd really like to see is a full history of the open equity. The max/min would be useful, but a full history would give you a MUCH better picture for the bot's behavior.

This could be done as simply as "write out a line to a file when you open a basket, close a basket, and once every X minutes while it's open." Include the open equity for each pair and optionally the basket as a whole. Then you could open that in Excel and chart the behavior of the bot while the basket is open.

I think that would be tremendously valuable data for characterizing the EA's performance, deciding on stops, etc.

Example dump:
2012.06.25 02:30,AUDCAD,AUDNZD,EURUSD,EURNZD,GBPUSD // Open-basket message -- tells pairs in basket
2012.06.25 03:00,10.1,15.3,-5.4,18.2,-10.5,27.7 // Open equity for each pair & for the whole basket
// similar lines each 30 minutes or whenever, including a final one when the basket closes

Whilst not providing the level of detail you have above Gary, this is a nifty little indicator to show account equity/balance etc. Steve links to it in all of his Post 1 for EA's

Guys, I just opened this pm from Slowkey:

"Steve this indicator is fabulous. I am scalping the 30 minute and 15 minute with this indicator. The confluence of the diff line, base and cross is an absolute marvel. I just did a counter-trend trade on the 30 min period GBPAUD. If we could find a way to get this working in the basket trader I think it would be a blast. I know Jemook has looked at this stuff. Just catching up and do not know how far he has thought this out. But I telling you this is absolutely a difference maker. Before I knew these Guys were making these indicators I was using a calculator to see what the diff would give us looking at the slope strength indicator and when I found they had already done the work I was ecstatic . I have been partying since.

It gives a measure of flow strength into the majors pairs. Always looking for something to take the place of volume in Forex and this might just be it.

Couldnt agree more!! This NT TMA-CSS-SP derived from Baluda's CSS is superb!! Yeah, Doug, u got the word out of my mouth, THE CONFLUENCE OF THE DIFF LINE, is a good entry point for a trade.

How I play at the moment:

1. I use a D1 for strength/ trend direction.
2. I use H4 chart for a retracement.
3. Then I use the H1 CSS to double check we are going back into the D1 trend direction. For the H1 CSS I make sure that the pairs are orientated correctly and diverging. If they start converging I know to watch out

It would also be interesting to trade Shelly baskets at volatile session open like this:

1. Watch pairs which have gone flat from previous session on the H1 NT CSS (all lines together)
2. As a session opens and you see the H1 NT CSS slopes/diff diverging add them to a basket!
3. Aim for 1 gazillion pips.
4. Profit!

I also see that you pick your pairs with readings over .60, and just wait for a good time retracing, and BANG! Basket fired!

Is that what you look for? The 0.60 on the slope strength readings?

It's a lot of gut and price action reading but yes I will accept .6 pairs most of the time especially if pivots are in order.
