Hi Leon,

Just a question, in the screenshot attachment on TDesk back on page 48, you have a bunch of super signals where the signals are not in complete alignment. In the TDesk settings you have solo signals set to 100/-100 so shouldn't the signals need to all align before a super signal? Just checking it this behavior is correct.

Hi Wally,

Because I have Veto on opposite signal set to: OBV-3/M15
So the following will happen:
If my veto arrow changes from an opposite direction back into the overall trend direction my super signal will be high lighted and show a signal entry in the direction of the trend, irrespective of the fact that all the other signals are not in alignment. IF my arrow changes against the overall trend my super signal will be blocked. You will also notice that the super signal age minutes change back to zero when we have a veto signal from opposite back into the trend direction. I was testing this to explore scale in options.
This could also be very beneficial if you want to trade say only 1 pair. You set your max open trades to 20 for example and you will be able to scale in when you have a signal back in the overall trend direction.

But, You really do not have to worry about this, because your trades will stay open for as long as the trend lasts if you follow my system. Some of my trades can go on on for weeks.

Another alternative is to disable the veto signal completely. It really should not make any difference in my current system.

Hi Guys,

I have updated post one with where I am at as of today 21/04/2020, with a few minor adjustments since my last post. This has been a long journey - over a year and I am reasonably happy. There will be little or no changes from this day on wards.

I have set up a step by step guide explaining in layman terms how to go about setting up your system. I have tried to put myself in the shoes of someone that is totally new to this stuff

I hope I can get through to those that are clueless.

Please feel free to discuss your improvements to my system. I never stop learning.

On a final note. Because I have tested this for so long, do not even think of going live. You have to test this on your own, by setting up pairs that you wish to trade. Some pairs perform better than others. You need to set up your own money management strategy in line with your personal circumstances. I will not be held accountable for any failures.

Brilliant stuff Leon. You could not make it easier for people to get started.

Folks, I will back up Leon's warning about not going live until you have thoroughly tested all this on demo. You need to come to your own conclusions about the pairs to trade, your level of risk and money management. You have to do your own thinking or you will fail. Leon has been at this stuff for a long time so you cannot instantly step into his shoes.

great many thanks Leon for the share. I have been running the higher timeframe confirmation version of these settings you shared circa septermber last year and overall it's doing great. Will set this final version up on demo on the weekend

Thanks Leon for all the effort you put into it and generousity to share with all of us. I have been testing some of my ideas but could not execute what I want with Tdesk and would really like if you could be of some assistance with it. Looked at your indis and how you set up your desky set and maybe we can do something together combining your set with mine.

I am sure you will come up with some improvements

My ambition has been to get an exit as soon as price changes in the opposite direction i.o.w get a timely exit. In my endeavors with Expert advisors I have too often seen that very good profits are given away when trades are closed with an opposite trend signal. This is of course taking a total hands off approach without manual intervention. So in a way I have concentrated more on exits than entries in my year long quest.

In my approach you will see that I follow trend on the 4 hour time frame. My profits will take a knock in ranging periods but grow substantially in trendy periods. I hardly have draw down because my trades are closed timeously. In ranging periods I take a knock but in trendy periods I can have more than 20 000 pips on the table. This is how I have grown my system.

So let us take this a step further, now that we know we have a good exit. We need some sort of filter to take out the ranging periods. If we can get a good filter that looks at the higher time frame which will make you wait for your entries, but will give you quality entries with a timely exit, I think we will be onto something good.

I have tried with HGI on the higher time frame but was not too successful. I am now looking at solar winds joy which on a visual back test looks good. If you add the daily time frame you could have a filter. Alternatively add the daily and weekly time frame. Anyway, these are just ideas to explore which I have not yet touched.

This is the kind of thing we could look at and ideas are welcome.
