First tentative steps into live trading:
XAUUSDH1.png

OK, so not desperately exciting but these were live 0.01 trades on a $900 starter account. I closed two global positions manually to achieve this result.

Why did I close manually?

On my normal $20,000 demo, these would have been 1 lot trades and the profit would have been $2,700, not $27. Anybody here really think that I would have left >10% profit on the table in the hope of gaining more? The thingy that trading the larger demo has taught me is this: don't leave what looks like a half-way decent profit on the table to possibly go bad, just because the EA 'rules' precludes closure. Remember the $12,000 profit target account that reached c. $8,000 before falling back and becoming decimated?

Which kind-of moves us yet further away from the idea of providing the totally new to all this with an EA they can safely leave to its own devices. Hey ho. I will keep on trying.

Who says the markets never go in a straight line?

That netted the account just over $2,500. :yahoo:

I was dubious about the trades given how the market had relentlessly risen, but they hit the 120 pip TP and showed the power of grid trading when a market moves in our favour.

Last week:
This week.png
Since opening the demo with $20,000 on April 9th:
All history.png
I am using an initial stop order 20 pips away from the market price, then an additional grid of 5 orders, 20 pips apart. TP for the first order is 120 pips and this is passed to the orders in the grid.

My experiments with no individual TP and global basket targets of $4,000, $8,000 and $12,000 have been failures so far. I will let them run for a while but they do not look promising.

I have also set up a couple of demo accounts.
This one has a deposit of $10,000 and a lot size of 0.5 so half of what Steve's demos have.
However it has a basket close of $500 so proportionally a 1/4 of Steve's $4000 TP smallest demo
All the other settings are the same.

You are not doing so badly either. 10.6% gain in just over a fortnight.

You would have to leave your deposit for about 1,000 years to gain the same from a UK savings account these days.

That is absolutely brilliant. 17% gain in two trading weeks. Wow.

Carry on like this and it will not be a tiny account for long.

I want to share this as it helped me when I am on the go.

I downloaded the Empty4 app which is available for iPhone/iPad/Android. It allows me to easily monitor multiple accounts without a computer. I can see current trades, trades history, P/L, charts.

Here's mine
