Great stuff Steve. tentatively optimistic about this one... I like how it has limited losses, partly thanks to aforementioned stop orders, and maxmimises good moves with the grid. There don't seem to be periods so far of large lingering negatively hanging baskets. Overall a very good combo. My demo has has yet another profitable day, all trades closed and flat.

Started a demo at $232 to match the above but with basket SL to see what happens.. today this

I had a quick look at those demo accounts some of you folks provided access to. We are all doing anything from very well to brilliantly.

V 1j is in post 1, but don't rush to download. All I have done is to code the defaults so that people with small starter accounts can drag the bot onto a chart, sit back and watch the fun.

I have added this to the user guide:

Default inputs
Our long-term goal at SHF has been to develop an EA that can be traded successfully by beginners with no knowledge of trading. It looks as though Moving ay might be it. These are the default settings relevant to you if you only have a tiny starter account:

• 0.01 lot size.
• Grid trading enabled:
  • The initial stop order is sent 20 pips away from the current market price.
  • There is a further grid of 5 more stop orders, all 20 pips apart.
  • The initial stop order has a take profit of 120 pips. This is copied to the grid orders so they all close at the same price.
  • The initial stop order has a stop loss set 30 pips on the opposite side of the moving average. This is copied to all the trades in the additional grid.
• There is a global basket take profit target of $40. scale this upwards if you can trade larger lot sizes e.g.:
  • 0.1 lots: target $400.
  • 1 lot: target $4,000.

There is a bug in the code. I had a grid of USDCAD sell stops still in place long after the market had risen above the moving average. I will find it soon. In the meantime, keep an eye open for this happening again. I have added a new script to post 1, "Delete All Pending Trades this pair only script" to facilitate quick and easy deletion of orphaned orders.

Many thanks for this EA I think over time it will improve as we find out how to use it best, and the small bugs are eradicated over time.

Hopefully it isn't succeptible to a major crash when in some future market conditions. I personally am very optimistic and will post when I have anything useful to contribute.

This blasted basked of trades has been bouncing around all day. One of the thingies I have learned in my tortuous journey through the train wreck that is retail Forex trading is this: when my brain asks, "Should you close your position now" then the sensible response is, "You bet, buster."

So I obeyed my brain earlier. I might have left cash on the table. I don't care. $900+ in the course of a week is a decent return.

No it isn't. It is a bloody fantastic return.


I have gone entire years without making anything even close to what I made in three days this week.

You folks who added your humongous bit to making MD as profitable as it appears to be so far. You are total stars.

It may be too soon to assume that we will all become rich. Let us keep on testing and reporting our results.For now, mine are live cash results.

Hi All
I have also set up a couple of demo accounts.
This one has a deposit of $10,000 and a lot size of 0.5 so half of what Steve's demos have.
However it has a basket close of $500 so proportionally a 1/4 of Steve's $4000 TP smallest demo
All the other settings are the same.

are you sure you have scaled the lot size / basket cash tp appropriately to your account size, that would be my main suggestion for you to check

I had basket close by pair, not by whole basket.
Probably that's the difference

Anyway. It is a very promising EA

I hope I can contribute soon to SHF forum with ea / indicator development. Would be great to give back to this community.

I realised that it is not MD's KnockOffForDayAfterClosure code that is faulty. MD sets a file with the D1 candle open time when it does a global basket closure, and will not trade again until the start of a new candle. The Nuclear Option script does not set this file, so MD has no way of knowing that we have done a manual closure.

I have added a new script to post 1 - "Nuclear Option for Moving Day script". This has the KnockOffForDayAfterClosure input and sets the file when you use the script, so MD knows not to trade any more for that day.
