Hopelessly confused by TDesk or Desky? Ask here.

Hi All,

I have been lurking around this forum for quite some time now unsuccessfully

I am not a complete idiot but I am hopelessly confused by TDesk for a number of reasons

I have everything else on board strategy wise but I do need some help which is why I am asking this as a final attempt at making this work

I am willing to pay someone for their time if they can be kind enough to do a quick TeamViewer session or something remote just to help me set things up

Writing the information down compared to the actual physical of implementing it with the various issues caused by either TDesk or my ignorance, I am sure it is the second one I am at the end of my attempts to go solo

It looks very neat, mainly as seeing how people went with the strategies they shown to people and the amount of pps they caught from some setups, it logically makes sense to automate a strategy, especially if someone understands coding, I have also been looking at StrategyQuant's Algo Wizard that allows you to simply put a strategy and implement it into Empty4 with ease but I want to give TDesk one last try, there is money on the table just for a setup run and to actually see it trade for me based on the instructions from the indicators

I am not lazy just stuck and if money is something you do not enjoy then I can put it up for charity etc..

It doesn't matter, above all I am looking for a mentor hopefully someone that has been a profitable trader for years and knows how to properly automate this and if we can collaborate that would be great

I am just a nobody but I do have some great ideas for future projects so if someone can show me the ropes, I am offering incentives here hehe

Please if you can let me know and let us arrange something via Skype or TeamViewer, all I ask if for a quick introduction session and to see what I cocked up

What is it you are struggling with? Perhaps throwing it out here, step by step, with pictures, others, and I can help.

My struggles are many, mostly in implementing Taipan's setup

Can I confirm that if ROLLOVER IN PROGRESS means the EA has expired?

See the photo attached

Anyhow, I cannot see any activity in trading since I load the EA (over a week now) and TDesk dose seem to acknowledge the signals sent to it

Could this be my own fault, probably but I would be more then happy to grant my PC's access to someone who has used TDesk successfully in order to help in the setup and would be happy in compensating his/hers time

My main request is if someone can show me what I am actually doing wrong, on this request I would be happy to reimburse them for their time, before I go elsewhere and send money on MQL4 coders who have no interests in helping clients or know trading themselves otherwise they would not need the gig

If we can do everything in house and it works, I will share this without any issues and be transparent with the results

Hey Vlad,

your TDesk Trading Partner EA is just not running. You either have used a template which links to an altered name than "TDesk Trading Partner EA" or you simply don't have the TDesk Trading Partner EA in your experts folder.

Either way, I suggest you to try to set up a very well documented TDesk system like the DESK-SPB created by tomele. After completing this task successfully, you should have enough knowledge and all the tools in the right places to continue with any other system here on SHF.

Hi Vlad

Sorry for the late reply. We had a power outage as I was about to reply.
Other than Mat's suggestion. Why is your magic number (minus) -1 ?
If your magic number is for example 5 on the Desky trading partner Ea then your magic number must be 5 on TDesk. If they are different numbers Desky will not pick up the signals.

Hey Leon,

as the EA smiley in the upper right of the window is missing and there are placeholders named "text", there isn't any active Desky EA.

To me, it is also a bit confusing to use a GBPJPY chart instead of the default XAUUSD chart we use here at SHF.

That's why I suggested Vlad to first go for the very basics of how to use the TDesk tools and subsequently named tomele's TDesk adaption of Slopey Peaky Bob.

Hi Everyone, tonight I had a very good profit with the latest Wavegarrick system and decided I wanted to bank it. After applying the Nuclear Option script all the trades closed with well over 2,000 Pips in the Black (thank you Leon) and as it turned out I would have lost quite a lot of profit. However after closing all the trades Tdesk started opening them again, is the script supposed to prevent this or am I mixing up with the Moving Day version?

Hey there,

as you activated the Nuclear Option Script, all the trades got closed. After that, Desky registers, that there are no open trades BUT has some active LONG and/or SHORT signals from TDesk. This leads to a reopening of those trades.
You can suppress a reopening by setting the the MaximumSignalAge in Desky to 10 minutes for example.
