You guys do realise that there is still a problem with the rapid opening/closing of orders thingy, and that I have yet to solve this?

Just making sure, that's all. At some point, this will re-emerge. I know this, because it happened on my demo.

This happened to ShelleyJem trades on my Cowboy IBFX demo again last night. No such incident for a week or so, though. Hopefully, you will be able to solve the problem shortly!

One thought for you - the following declaration is in all the Shelley Ea's:

extern int JumpingStopPips;//Zero to disable

It never gets initialized and shows in the EA properties when added as Zero but is it????

I have been changing it to:

extern int JumpingStopPips=0;//Zero to disable

and recompiling and have never had the rapid open/close thing but I hadn't really connected the two. I'm still not sure there is a connection but it was worth a thought!

This was an oversight on my part. Failing to initialise variables explicitly causes problems in mql4, despite the documentation claiming that integers are set to zero by default. Those of you interested in continuing your experimentation need to either make the change in the source yourself, or download the latest version.

This is my first post, but i've been following this forum for some time now, and there's some very good stuff here.

My humble participations is about this question:

4) Why displaying properties of this EA is disabled? Try urself to right click on the chart , ExpertAdvisors/Properties ====> NOTHING there. Why ? (it's not solution to remove EA completly then reattach it, You agree ?)

I've found that in the documentation (http://docs.mql4.com/runtime/start/) :

At incoming of new quotes, the start() function of the attached experts and custom indicators will be executed. If the start() function launched at the preceding quote was running when a new quote came, the new quote will be skipped by the expert. All new quotes income while the program was being executed are skipped by the program until the current execution of the start() function has been completed. After that, the start() function will be run only when a successive new quote incomes. For custom indicators, the start() function will be launched for recalculation after the current chart symbol or timeframe has been changed independently on new quotes incoming. The start() function will not be run when the expert properties window is open. The latter cannot be opened during the expert execution.

So this is not a bug, it's a feature. It is because of the while loop in the start() function.

One way around that is to modify the code in the start() function to add a break when the experts are disabled:

So whenever you need to modify the properties, you hit the big "Expert Advisors" button (it will stop all experts at the same time), then you can open the properties window.
