Richard, I feel this is germain to your thread. Sing out to me via PM if you disagree and I will delete the relevant posts. I already deleted an idiot's posts tonight.

Noobs invariably fall into the trap of trading anything that moves. Right at the start of my Forex journey(over a decade ago) I came across a thread at FF entitled something along the lines of, "How to make 20 pips a day."

"Ridiculous," I thought. "Any idiot can make multiples of 20 pips a day."

And then came close to going bankrupt after borrowing heavily to fund the live trading account that I blew within weeks. My Welcome message to new members contains the advice never to trade with funds you cannot afford to lose. I did exactly that and nearly lost our family home.

This is good in a way. Had I not ignored the advice and harvested the 20 pips a day on offer then this forum would not have come into existence.

It was a harsh lesson though, so noobs take note. When Sharky sits out for a week or two, there are good and cogent reasons why.

Not as Steve might put it, a 'trading tart', sometimes it'll sit on its hands for a week, but quality over quantity for sure

I remember a quote from my early days by a then much more experienced trader: "Better to be out wishing you were in, than in wishing you were out." Yep. I quickly got to know the feeling as I promptly ignored the advice and traded anything that moved. :) Invariably in the wrong direction. :arrrg:

Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

Hi Folks :hi:
Setup after setup, after setup. :yahoo:

34LWMA (H4,H1,M5) HGI (H4) and Use Peaky (H4) set to true within Sharky. Market trade & H4 ATR grid of 2 limit orders & 25TP. I have decided to use 150% of D1 ATR as a hard stop for individual baskets.

This is a micro account that I placed the aforementioned set onto.
I'm super happy with it's results so far.:good:

Ps: Daily profit is now up to 421pips since I took the screen shot.

(This is a GP Demo I started running on Monday (Same set, but bigger trade size of 0.01 every £1k)).

Take care and stay safe,
Richard

looking very positive r1ch4rd, thanks for sharing your progress

Have conditions arisen yet as you mentioned, where price goes against the signal and runs? If so, how did your current settings handle the situation

thanks, trader

Hey Trader. :hi:

I had one on my Micro Acc with AN, (The reason for the equity dip red line). No SL at the time.
AN.png
But since I started the Demo run with 150% I haven't had any stop-outs. It will happen, it's just a case of mitigating losses. On 100% disagree it was losing more than making so I've binned that and concentrating on D1 % SL.

1692 pips in the bank this week.

Regards
Richard

Hey r1ch4rd

Thanks for the info. Agree, it's good to be prepared and acknowledge that losses will happen, just the cost of doing business. It's a matter of finding that sweet spot I suppose with the basket sl. Lots of pips in the bank so far , watching with interest

Still going nicely

This is the 150% D1 ATR Basket SL which had 2 losing trades this week.
150% SL.PNG
This is the 125% Basket SL which also had 2 losing trades. Available margin (Set @ 2000%) is holding us back here. £10K acc 100:1.

Sharky's KISS

Post by r1ch4rd »

Hey Folks. :hi:

It's been a trying couple of weeks for Sharky's KISS.
I had a few SL hits that wiped out quite a bit of equity. But I'm pleased to say I have recovered those losses and more. I have added D1 HGI confirmation to the mix which will hopefully filter out the bad entries (looking like a good decision so far).

This is the £10K Demo Acc. :good:
34 LWMA (M5,H1,H4), HGI (H4,D1), TP25, SL 125% D1 ATR
10K.png
I had to take manual control of the Micro account which also suffered a few Stop outs, so there isn't any point in releasing figures for that account anymore, although I'm pleased to say it's still gaining nicely. :)

Stay safe and take care.
Richard

Hey Folks :hi:

Another decent week for Sharky's KISS (£10K Demo) and yet another tweak added.

Friday being NFP day as well as CAD employment data release (which caused a spike down and SL hit only to retrace :arrrg: ) brought me to the decision to exclude trades 24hrs before red events. This will obviously/possibly dramatically reduce the number of trades taken, but the end goal is to have as close to a rock-solid system to upload on this thread for y'all.

My Micro account had a stonking week, gaining just short of 1700 pips. :yahoo:

Take care and stay safe.

Good idea imo but why 24hrs wouldn't 1 or 2 hours be enough, as the events explode and correct quite quickly?

To be honest I have nothing to base that time length on.
Although the average trade length is 13 hours.
On reflection, and considering your question I will cut it to 14 hours and work from there. Having it less than the average in my opinion would be futile (Please correct me if you think I'm wrong).
Thank you for your input. :good:
