Hello, just popping in to say hello and thank you. I am really excited to be finding this group on the ground floor... as in realtime. Usually when I go researching things I find projects and discoveries that are months or years old, like threads that are 300+ long. It takes me days to study and research and I never know if the end result will be good or bad lol.

Anyway, I stumbled across SteveHopwood in my recent quest for a better stop EA, after having studied and played with several. Because of the slave job, I am forced to be a somewhat "set and forget" trader, where I am not always available to respond immediately to changing market conditions. I was overwhelmingly excited to find MPTM, not only for the EA and all that it offers, but because it lead me to Steve, whom I had never heard of before that point (I don't frequent the forums too much, rather spend my limited time on trading than chit-chatting).

After MPTM, I was quickly lead to study the Hanover Recent Strength indicator. I found this fascinating and began utilizing it immediately in my trading. Also per Steve's mention, I've begun using the MT4i TradeCopier EAs, which I'm currently using to optimize my MPTM settings. I am running multiple instances of Empty4 and I place my trades on one, and then they are mirrored on the other instances. I have the TradeCopier set to ignore closes altogether, so instead I use variations of MPTM settings in the different instances. Once I find better settings, I adopt them as the standard. I'm planning to share this price-action method I'm building once I feel that it has legs (my rule is that I need to turn a profit and have decent small DD for a full 21-day month). The method is rooted in a Renko brick philosophy that I recently studied, but has morphed into something vastly more simple and (seemingly) effective. It does not require much brain power and is very mechanical.

I am super excited about Steve's philosophy about sharing and collaborative software building (ie open source). I am hoping to learn a lot from this group and be able to contribute as well. I can make my own "spaghetti" too from time to time but certainly I have a lot to learn.

Anyhow, thanks again for all your efforts in running this forum. I hope that you're able to balance your passion for trading with family life, so that you don't burn out. I personally find it to be a constant challenge trying to feed my addiction while at the same time demonstrating that I love my wife more than trading lol.

I have found this forum while looking for more info about Seteve Hopwood (have You heared of the man, by the way? ) being attracted by his personality so nice and full of good attitude.
I have no idea of coding or even using ea's but when I have entered here I felt like at home, so I would like to stay for a while - if You agree.

Hello All

I have been what is normally called a Class A lurker. In my defense I have to say that I have been quite due to fact that I did not feel like I could add much value.

Approx. 8 monthsd ago I came accross threads by Steve and since then I have been a close follower and quite tester of many of the EA's.

The reason for breaking my silence now, is out of sincere gratitude to all of you who have been the foundation of the quest to code / tweak Empty4 EA's for the greater good.

At present I am forward testing Bigbob and Reversi, both for about 20 days and both have been
performing fairly well.

Hopefully I might be able to assist at some stage, but for now. Thank you!!

Silent lurkers, do not feel guilty. Download and test stuff. You may never post ever, but that does not matter. On the other hand, you might come up with a fantastic tweak that will help all of the rest of us; then becoming an un-silent lurker will be hugely appreciated.

Glad to see you around Steve! I've been away from Forex for a couple of months now just trying to enjoy life and clear my mind before diving back in. When I checked FF today I noticed that there were barely any of your threads in the top 5 pages which lead me here. Hope we can all keep sharing trading ideas and really appreciate you still sharing your EAs for free even though with all your experience you could probably sell it.

Hehe, I say, "I am humbled by the response to my starting this forum" as though it would have happened without Erwin (Fate12) who actually set it up. Without his intervention, I would probably still be gawping at the screens that followed my Googling 'Set up a forum' and saying, "Errrr. Ummmmm"
