It is readily available. coz will provide the original. Attached is a version that works (I think) with TDesk.

Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

Steve, thanks! That is the version I have been using for a few years now. It doesn't require TDesk, but it did work with it when last I tried it. I use the version Steve posted because it lets me set the timeframe to Weekly and the periods to 18.

Just for fun, put it on a GBPUSD 4-hour chart and notice the difference if you leave the Gann indi at its default of 10 weeks vs. 18 weeks. The candles on my sample are too small to see individual HGI signals, but you would have been buying since last November. lol, should have been able to at least book a few pips in there. But you do have to ride out the tough times, knowing runs like this are on their way.

Back in January 2022, you would have entered at least a couple of buy trades, but the buy Gann signal didn't last very long. I always wait for a week to close before I consider the Gann weekly signal valid for the past week. While the week is going on, it can move back and forth if price is moving back and forth across the previous set of dots, as the Gann dots can act as decent support and resistance. Full disclosure: I didn't start making consistent profits on HGI until I changed to this much longer timeframes and let trades pile up, but you can make a lot of different variations on strategies and timeframes work if you are willing to learn from you mistakes :)

When I first started trading Forex, I came up with a strategy for GBPUSD only, which involved trading using the SMA60 line as a filter. If I had stuck with it, I think it would have made money for me eventually, because it was based on a lot of research I did showing that GBPUSD stayed on one side of the SMA60 line or another for longer periods than any other pair.

I was wondering overnight if that applied to the Gann Weekly 18 settings I've been using for my HGI strategy, and by a wide margin, GBPUSD has the fewest color changes over a long period of time. Going back 15 years, GBPUSD only changes color an average of 2.27 times a year. EURUSD and EURGBP come in tied for second at an average of 2.8 color changes a year. Honorable mention goes to USDJPY (3.00), USDCAD (3.07), EURNZD (3.13), AUDNZD (3.20) and EURJPY (3.20). The more times a year the color changes, the harder it is to make money.

If you've read the HGI threads, you know Bob had a long standing hate/hate relationship (lol) with GBPCHF. Over the last 15 years, it averages 3.87 color changes a year, the highest of the pairs I tested.

Anyway, food for thought if you do trend trading. :geek:

Good, I've been using HGI_v17.00 for a while now and I'm in love with this indicator. I would like to make an improvement to it, which improves the bounces of the indicator, as I show you in the screenshot.

This code is based on the bollinger bands with some modifications that I have been doing. If you could provide me the code of the indicator, I will be happy to include this code and help me to develop the indicator.

As you can see the yellow arrows coincide with the good bounces and entries of the indicator, it can even correct the Rad arrows and mark a rebound.

I am looking forward to add my bit and help to improve the indicator.

Thx.

Moin.

The HGI code is not available to the public. But you can combine HGI and BB for an entry system by TDesk.

Request for possible HGI mod.

Good day NanningBob, Milanese, Elixe, et al.

Firstly, thanks for the HGI indicator. Trading the blue wavys in the direction of the trend, is profitable. Filtering on the month trend - above/below opening - even better.

Would you consider splitting the wavy warnings, so that RangeStartAlert and RangeEndAlert can be separately selected, rather than only WavyAlerts? Or maybe giving the wavys different names, or maybe ToolTips?

That would lessen my screen time considerably.. :0)

Regards,

Chris.
