Re: Goldy
weekly report 05 16 17 18 19 20 - 06 - 2025
A very busy week for me, I have lost track of daily journal, but following are this week's report:
The v1e pacific market trading strategy has fully blown out. The equity closing on 20th of June has dropped to 600GBP. I will continue its trading towards the end of June and see the result. This version works very well in the beginning of the week, but I got very distracted from other issues and forgot to check the status now and then. The result kicks in when Wednesday or Thursday morning it caught itself in a leak toilet situation and I did not shut goldy down in the right time, ending a huge DD in the end. I will keep monitoring for the next week.
latest version of ADX seems working very well, tbh I did not intervene at all for the whole week apart from one restart of the program. Surprisingly it resolved the situation perfectly and raise up the equity back to ~1.5k, we shall see how it goes on. The most potential DD is happened on US market Wednesday, when global situation gets intense, but also goldy resolved itself in the following day.
Wish everyone safe and sound.
Best of best,
ice

Re: Goldy
I am going to be gentle here as you have been a member of SHF for a long time.
Having said that, your post is one of the most idiotic seen here for a while. Have you really not grasped that EA's etc are uploaded to post 1 in all of my EA threads? I hoe not as that would mark you out as a moron.
Go to post 1 dimwit, and do not attract my attention with a stupid post again.
Read the effing manual, ok?

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.
Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

Re: Goldy
weekly report 06 23-27 - 06 - 2025
ADX this week is a bit bouncy. Going all the way up to 2k (we started this test from 1k), it had a few DDs throughout the week but on friday landed very hardly above 2k. Several integration was involved this week as I kind of get to know the pattern from looking at ADX and ATR indexs, having a bit sense of when within daily timeframe the trend will go rocket high or drop valley low.
To wrap up this month of experiment, I would say the way goldy trade is relatively secure to me (on demo account), as keeping up the save and navigating through the mess of sideway markets are promising in such a high volitile market. Kept saving up the profit earned and kept building up the pool can make life so much easier for people like me who only trade as side quests. This increases the security in mind and I can distribute sufficient energy to checkout the consequences and goldy behaviour, manually control the spikes of market goldy cannot deal with.
My mindset has also changed throughout this month. I was in fear or think I am fear of seeing a loosing account (even a demo one!). The blood pressure that raises so rapidly I can even feel my veins pumping. Get to know the way goldy trade help to ease out this feeling, as I trade more with goldy I know the threshold where goldy might not resolve more and risk boundary I can let it fly. I would say it is a 10% loss with 2.5% floating, if thing goes even more crazy than that you might want to shutdown goldy and call it a day. I did not have any indicator or EA function for this, just eyeballing the result and give myself the feel of shuting or not. I guess building up a pattern of seeing the market is also part of the trading process.
Anyways shout out to Steve and all others for making goldy possible, I might kept posting the result of ADX goldy demo account, but I might not have such lot of thoughts until some magical moments.
Enjoy your weekend folks

Re: Goldy
V 1i is in post 1.
It occurred to me that folks might like to harness the grid and equity TP features whilst trading only in their chosen direction. I have reinstated our usual TrandLong and TradeShort inputs and added the code needed to make them work.
It dawned on me that using ATR for individual order TP's meant that they would have a TP even if I did not want this. I have added code so that setting PercentageOfDistanceForTakeProfit to zero prevents a TP being sent with the order.
I have updated the user guide with the info in most of the post 1 edits. You do not need the update if you have been following Goldy's development from the beginning.
--------------------
Trading was reasonable last week, especially so given that I closed positions in DD to take advantage of the code I had added.
Also, orso suggested offsetting at three rather than five (MinOpenTradesToStartOffset = 3) as he was finding this helpful in avoiding large gaps in between the groups of buys and sells. I am finding this helpful as well, although early days yet.

Re: Goldy
Ran this for a few days late last week and it was pretty decent, drawdown does not seem to get out of control like some earlier versions, will keep testing next week

I'm giving this a whirl on BTCUSD, which is notorious for spiking wildly in either direction. Thought it would be interesting, given the EA's style. It is early days, no expectations - so let's just see.
