The original account has ticked over nicely with the balance closing at over $11,000 whenever an equity target is hit. You can now log on to the account if you want to follow its progress. See the post 1, 25th April edit section and read down to the 'Further edit' for details.

The much smaller account is not doing so well. There are: two market buys and nine market sells open; the margin level% is sickly; the DD is horrible. It will be interesting to see if Goldy can sort this out.

The original account is doing very well. There were 6 equity tp closures by Wednesday's market closing. ADX prevented any further trading for the rest of the week. I may have missed out on a few pips but the market had risen by c. 3,765 pips over five weeks and was due some consolidation.

By comparison, the smaller account had been doing really badly and is stuck in a heavy position.

I could not understand why there was such a difference in performance until I realised that my lack of attention to detail had kicked in. ADX on the successful account was taking its readings from the H1 regardles of the chart I was viewing. I had accidentally set ADX on the unsuccessful account to 'current' and was viewing it on the M15, so the ADX values were those of the M15. Let's see what happens next now I have changed ADX to the H1.

just a quick fyi, for your setfile that you've just added to post 1, the 'adx timeframe' setting is still set to 'current timeframe'.

For now, I declare this experiment as a bust.

Goldy cannot cope with a market that moves inexorably in one direction - in this case XAUUSD rising for months on end. It has blown the two accounts that I list in post.

I am not locking this thread yet as I will continue to experiment by looking at pairs with a more 'rangy' characteristic.

Please continue to post your own experiments folks.
