Yep, I had to open another currency's 1M chart for its range bars and the 2M chart did magickally appear in the offline menu.

Yep, I had to open two 1M charts for each currency and put the range bar indicator on them if I wanted a 2 and 10 pip range bar chart for the same currency.

I have a really basic (read: dumb) question about EA's on Empty4:
If you have an EA running on a laptop and you close or switch off the laptop - will the criminal execute TP/SL on open trades whil laptop is off?

Gaz has answered the question; my corollary would be (hopefully obvious) - don't trade with actual money off a laptop. You can get a decent W2008 server VPS for £12 a month and set it up so if it re-boots it all restarts, in a data centre, secure, UPS and access from anywhere in the world...

where can i get a vps for 12 GBP a month? is it any good?

my current one is 512mb and i just max it out constantly with all my charts!!

i assume someone here might answer a question i have: in using an ea, i continually get the alarm... "order send failed with error (4109): trade is not allowed in the expert properties". I have not received this alarm with other ea's, and do not know where to change this property. my question is how to set whatever property needs permission and where i should be looking to find the answer to such questions myself.

Your platform has disabled EA's. Go to Tools/Options/Expert Advisors and change the settings there.

I thought I'd comment about the data feed of Empty4. I am running it on a Mac through parallels, which may have a bit to do with it, but when price moves quick my Empty4 lags a second or two. I've seen this with a couple different brokers.

I am comparing it to Oanda's Fxtrade feed, which is a lot better compared to Oanda's Empty4 feed. I use the latter for charting and the former to trade live. Is this the case with anyone else?

on an shelly ea i have compiled, the beginning of the chart date line has red print in a box that covers the first 2 or so dates. the print keeps flashing and i canot tell what it says (nor why) - except the last output that is still standing there is 'USDCHF,5'. what is that all about? what is it trying to tell me and how do i eliminate it? and should i?

have recompiled and the above problem no longer occurs. still no idea why or what it was, but it no longer displays. i will ignore it until it happens again, thx

Recompiling source code is the single most basic thingy that any trader using mql4 software must be able to do. Well done for working out how to do this.

to pull up the extern parameters to adjust, i rt click on the smiley face, and the chart's dropdown appears, left click expert advisors and properties. the dropdown goes away, but the parameters box does not appear. any idea why and how to fix?
