Suggestion

Post by GT3RS »

Hi all,

Now Bob has introduced 10.2a, I wondered if any of you talented and helpful coders would be interested in coding an indicator/dashboard to show which pairs the pivots are lined up on?

It could even incorporate an option to read the slope as well, so you can see if the pivs are lined up AND the slope for different timeframes is showing a trend in the same window.

Just a thought.............. :D :D :D

Good idea however I think Baluda's Currency Slope Values could implement this easily. We don't really need different colours on it because they are sorted in the correct columns anyway. Perhaps the colour of the pair could be green for correct order and red for incorrect order. If the daily is in the middle of the weekly and monthly then a trend change may be upon us and this colour could be grey? Like this:

LONG (correct order, best setup)
daily
weekly
monthly

SHORT (correct order, best setup)
monthly
weekly
daily

LONG (careful of trend change)
weekly
daily
monthly

SHORT (careful of trend change)
monthly
daily
weekly

LONG (incorrect order, trend has changed)
monthly
weekly
daily

SHORT (incorrect order, trend has changed)
daily
weekly
monthly

Of course Paul might have his own ideas on how best to show this :D

Jem,

1.
I see you present the order top down, ie high to low. Is this the preferred way? Or should it the other way around, MWD for Long, DWM for Short? Or should we present the pivots in the direction of the possible trade, MWD for Long and Short?

2.
Do we want to see where Price is? Could it be DWPM for Long or MPWD for Short? Or any other combination with 1.

What do others think about this?

1. For a long Daily should be above Weekly which should be above Monthly. For a short Monthly should be above Weekly which should be above Daily.

2. That could be cool. I'm not sure how you would display all this in one dashboard though. Perhaps a new dashboard of pivots should be done separate to Currency Slope Values.

You could group them as

BUY
Correctly ordered pivot pairs (top down DWM)

SELL
Correctly ordered pivot pairs (top down MWD)

CAREFUL BUY
Daily in middle (top down WDM)

CAREFUL SELL
Daily in middle (top down MDW)

I think I got that right?! LOL

Hello Baluda,

If I may , I would like to provide a suggestion for the dashboard,

(Jemook – you’re the pro at this, maybe you can confirm)

If one image worth 1000 words, here are 2000.

The first picture is the EJ current situation and the second picture is a suggestion of the dashboard based on the EJ scenario. You can also find a first attempt to define different market situations based on TMA Slope Value and the Pivots order at this location:

http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... f=37&t=701

The key word here is “attempt”. Please anyone with a good comprehension of this system , let me know if I should change/adjust some definitions.

Thanks to you all !

Cheers!

Bunker

I have the greatest respect for everyone on here, especially the coders amongst us who spend hours and hours developing stuff which they then share freely with the rest of us.

Bearing this in mind, and the fact that we are asking one of these talented and selfless coders to do a load of work for us, then maybe we should just keep it simple to start with?

I'm thinking a dashboard showing each pair and the position of each piv relative to the other initially.

So, if Monthly is above Weekly which in turn is above the daily, then we have all green.

Maybe something like this:

EURUSD GBPUSD USDCHF
Daily Daily Monthly
Weekly Monthly Weekly
Monthly Weekly Daily

So, in the example, EURUSD would be green, GBPUSD would be amber and USDCHF would be red.

I think this would be a good, simple starting point for the dashboard if anyone would be kind enough to pick it up and run with it.

Thanks,

Rob

I trust Baluda to run with one of these or even better come up with his own idea for a solution. Everything he touches turns to pips.

How to trade in these cases?
If MP<DP<WP but Slopes are in alignment H4<D1<W1 we can go short(pic.1)
The same contitions-MP<DP<WP,but Slopes are not in alignment -NO TRADE(pic.2) .
Only if Pivots and Slopes at the same time are in alignment-is a powerful weapon.

That is almost the same way I use the MTF...the alignment of the slopes equal to the pivots...I am just experimenting as of now which combination is the best...W/D/H4 or D/H4/H1
for shorter timeframes I also use M5/M15/M30.

would love to hear more about your findings...

happy Sunday,
