I'm looking forward to hearing more on these findings. They could really help with adding a counter trend element to basket trading which is another thing I'm looking at. Look at all you geniuses, Bob would be so proud :)

Ok, I just looked into this a bit more and this is an amazing concept, I'm well impressed. Just wanted to let you know that you can also zoom in to a lower TF and do this on a H1/H4 chart or perhaps an M15/H1 chart.

Personally I'm not using this EA but Steve I have a feeling you should add 2 user selectable TF's (upper and lower) to the next version. Then someone should test it out on a M1/M15 chart ;)

Have a great weekend guys, I'm off til Sunday.

V 1a in post 1.

There is a new input. SnapbackDistance is an experiment is waiting for the 'snap back' to start. SS looks back at the previous 3 candles and finds the lowest lower time frame Slope value. Slope has to have moved in the right direction by SnapbackDistance to trigger a trade. Turn off this filter by setting it to zero.

No idea if this will help.

:D
Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

I think it would be great for CT entries. I'm using it for trend-resumption entries -- a confirmation of pullbacks in a TMA-confirmed trend. Looks good so far.

Hello Fellow Traders,

Good start with Stretchy! 8 winners no losers. I also received a few PMs showing smashing results from other traders.

Now, I am curious to see Stretchy’s behaviour when D1 is NOT trending while a (1.2) gap take place.
Let’s say D1 = 0.2 while H1 drop to – 1.0. How much the trending effect influence the rebound toward D1 ? or maybe we’ll find that in a ranging scenario, our magic “stretch number” should be different….

That will be my test next week and I’ll report the results back here (Steve, is this just a matter of changing the user options ?). Thanks!

Have a good weekend All!

Hello garyfritz and Jem,

I definitely see this strategy for trend resumption but I'm not sure I understand how to use this for CT entries. I think CT scenarios would be when D1 and H1 values are actually pretty close (opposite of Stretchy). EDIT: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 081#p20081

But I know you guys are Wizards so I am looking forward to see (and understand) what you have in mind. It usually translates into pips!!

Have a good weekend!

Hi All,

I just downloaded the EA and am looking forward to a play with it. like Gary I'm interested in how this would work on CT trades. And would like to be able to see both time values on a chart going back historically, however as we know the NB TMA slope repaints.

So Gary can you or anyone else here alter the attached slope indicator (which was also coded by zznbrm) so that we can choose the time frame as opposed to the one of the chart its loaded onto. The reason being that this does not repaint. The NanningBob slope indi we use is an actual value only on the current bar but repaints values back from their. This one does not and I can confirm from live trading that both Indi's have the same current bar value.

If any coders can see some merit in this and have the time I would love to have this extra tool for historical analysis.

Below are the indi and a pic of both slope indis on a H1 chart its pretty obvious which one re paints.

Cheers...Ted

Hi Bunker,

Thanks for the reply. Great idea of yours about elasticity I think it's got possibilities.

And thanks for the pointer, I played around with Paul's indi a while back and completely forgot that it was timeframe and histo selectable DOH!

Have a great weekend mate.
