Not the same in my opinion. I know very successful manual traders that will not trade any currency pair where the 14 day Average True Range is less than 90. This site has a nice link on it if people would like more information on it.

It depends on what you're doing. If you're taking short intra-day positions, you want plenty of volatility, and a short ATR filter like that makes sense. If you're using FS as an entry for a longer-term hold, low ATR may not be a problem -- in fact it may be an advantage, if it makes it less likely to hit your stop.

I have FS on an Cowboy IBFX Platform and experience the same freezing and getting "not responding" from it from time to time, I was still using the original version. Will change over to see if the latest fix works better. Thanks for the feedback I thought it was just my PC.

TradeTalk from MT4i, ( http://www.mt4i.com/appstore/app.aspx?id=13&sort=name ) is a free EA that will email, SMS or Twitter trades opened, closed and pending, alerts are adjustable. You can format the messages to include the magic number and/or trade comment, good for identifying which EA took the trade.

Mt4i stuff is looking so useful that it should be becoming a regular visit for all traders.

Hi Team,

I'm also experiencing the high CPU usage while trades are open. It basically locks up the platform. This EA is profitable and I'm excited about the possibilities. I thought I might just write my own that isn't so resource intensive. I'm not sure the flying buddha indicator is needed, since we are just looking for a previous candle where the low was above the moving averages for a sell signal or the high was below the moving averages for a buy signal. Anyways.....hopefully we can sort it all out. Thanks for all the hard work and sharing this profitable entry. TCO

I'm experiencing the same issues with CPU and resulting platform crash.

I have version 1g running on 27 pairs.

Any ideas on a fix?

I think the root of the high CPU usage resides in the void CountOpenTrades()
I am still trying to understand what is happening within in this routine.
But for the moment do I see a stray or misplaced cc++ or is it something else. ??

This EA was actually causing my computer to shut down when trades were open. I now have two trades open with low cpu used. What I have done:

1. Taken all indicators off the charts
2. Under Tools/Options/Charts I have set Max bars in history to 2000 and Max bars in chart to 2000
3. Gone back to V1b.

It may not have been necessary to go back to V1b.

Neither. COT is the same routine in all my ea's. If it caused problems, they would have shown up a loooonnnngggg time ago.

I have done what you did on your side, fxshadow, but my machine still sits @ 98% cpu usage - I am running v 1g so maybe need to go back to 1b...
