At the moment my only crims have 0.1 lot minimum, so a 50 pip adaptive SL starts to get pretty expensive for 6 or 8 pairs. You'd need $15-20k to keep that at 2%. My account at PFG isn't there any more :( but my other live account is at Tradestation, and they're 0.1 minimum too.

My fruit basket spoiled. :D It was up as much as 300 but not enough to jump the stop, so it took me out at my BE stop. Still 60 pips, can't complain too much.

Yesterday during the retracement I lost 5 manual NB 10.2A trades. Maybe my SLs were too close. I attach 2 charts as example.

One thing puzzles me: I remember Bob writing several times that because of TMA slope is updating (I am not saying repainting ;-)) the slope value should not be used for entries. Entries should be based on pivots and TMA buy/sell bias (plus/minus direction). However, I noticed that at the time I entered the TMA slope bias was correct but meanwhile the plus/minus bias has changed on the entry candle!

So from now on I will not look at the TMA slope indi at all when opening trades on H4.

Gary there are new TMA indicators out which don't repaint. See Neotraders thread in the indicator subforum.

Roger that.

My basket also got hit BE. Market is too dynamic, and with those institutional orders, they sure push EU up like nobody's business.

Looks like condition not met, no trades for the time being.

Lesson learned: We traders must be dynamic too, TP after momentum. Now I might consider changing strategy to a day trader. :oops:
If your strategy is working well, dont be GREEDY and change it!

Jem and Kelisa, thank you, I am aware of the TMA true indis. However, TMA true only changes the way how past histogram candles are updated.

My point was that not only the size / amount but also the bias of the TMA slope can change (no matter if repainted later or not) and therefore TMA bias should not be used for entry decisions. Entries should only be based on pivot lines.

Gary, I'm not following you. What size / amount can change, and what do you mean by the "bias" of the slope?

TMA true should be identical to the old repainting TMA on the current bar. It's only different in history because it doesn't recalculate values in hindsight like the original TMA.

The TMA Slope value means everything when you enter your trade:

BUYS
If it's above .4 look to buy using pivot crosses.
If it's above .8 look to hold your buy trade and perhaps add another position on the next pivot cross.

SHORTS
If it's below -.4 look to sell using pivot crosses.
If it's below -.8 look to hold your sell trade and perhaps add another position on the next pivot cross.

RANGE
If the values start to range between .4 and -.4 the pair is considered range bound. If you have open positions you should think about exiting them until it breaks out again.

Who cares if it changes after you enter?

I was wondering if one could apply this same Strategy on the H1 TF, I know NB says it's best on the H4 TF using the D1 as basis or rather to gauge our Long or Short trades but having eyeballed the H1 TF's with most of the CHF crosses since the begining of the this week, I just have a feeling that one could do a lot better with ammasing loads of Pips if one times the Entries very well on the H1 TF.s but also exercising a lot of Caution, an example of what I am trying to say here is based on take for example looking at the GBP/CHF, have a look at it on the H1 TF and compare it to the H4 TF and hopefully what I am saying here will fall into place if you get my point. What is your view on this !

My view is that I'm not changing anything with my basket system. For me it is perfect and only needs a tiny bit of fine tuning. As for you feel free to play around as much as you want :) I'm sure I'll look into sharing a shorter timeframe system that we are developing but not for a while!
