Slowkey, you seem to prefer ChaserL over UseMax. Is there any particular reason for that? Do you regularly optimize the settings? I am not into the Beast that much, this is just a technical question, I am not sure how people do this on a regular basis but the question here is whether it is worth to do so or just should not bother with it (but use the UseMax function)

Anything I use is a pragmatic result of testing. Does it make the Box better. I crippled the Bot on purpose to do what I want it to do. I have no interest in all the historic debate we used at the time to determine the beast settings. If the box traded better with it on than it is used. I am interested in success only. Chaserl better defines where the box is best trading. It reduces DD. I expect it makes the Box better. It is used.

You know I may find it will work better back on the 1 hour time frame but I put it on the 4 hour because in testing it seemed to produce more trades. Although there was a few more losses. I am constantly experimenting and looking to improve performance so that set file is not meant as any kind of a long term strategy. It is what I am using today and may change tomorrow.

Understood, a fair enough answer, do what works, I believe the same. Macman's reasoning has made sense to me, so that's where I was coming from and since I do not know how the numbers were created and how to re-create them I prefer the UseMax method. I set up the SB on the 16th and so far it has made 320 pips on selected pairs (1H TF). So, results seem to be good anyway. Yet to see a major DD. I will try it on the 4H TF simultaneously with similar settings to see how the results differ.

I've loaded SB from post 1 onto 7 charts in a new demo.
one sell stop and one buy stop.

The buy stop is on usdchf.
However SB keeps placing and deleting the buy stop.
How can I prevent this.

I've turned on manual confirmation to see what is happening.
open buy stop at 0.99324 TP at 0.99514 (dashed purple)
then
delete buy stop at 0.99324 TP at 0.97633 (lower dashed purple)

any ideas? anyone?

ps I turned off SB on that chart for about 5minutes. When I enabled trading again all was ok (no more deleting)

Sounds like a feature to me. Did you read the pdf file in post 1.

placing the buy stop is a feature.

maybe I wasn't clear

immediately deleting it and replacing it and deleting it and re-placing it again and again and again (at the same price) does not seem like a feature?

also it does not place a corresponding sell stop below the white box as detailed in the pdf in post 1.

I am also trying this ea and had the same issue, only with buys, they were placed and deleted a second right away. I updated to this Steve's revised v1c: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... hp?id=6788 posted a few pages earlier on this thread, and it's fixed now.

I am very happy with the results so far, just a few days running, but it looks very promising. In fact this site is full of real good forex stuff. I arrived from FF, looking for more info on the pitbull sys, tried that ea too, but unfortunately my brains are not up to that level. However I'm very happy I found this page, I am a newbee, and learning a lot looking around here and using these tools. Thanks guys, well done!

I think I will wait to Steve separates out the WB as a separate bot all by itself to further post about WB. Little less confusing that way. I have gone back to the 1 hour time period though and reset the pips to 10 for that period. Looks likes way to much DD on the 4 hour all though you get a few more trades. I think Steve has stated what he felt about further development of the Beast if you read the thread. Between FF and here there is tons of stuff to study on the beast if you are interested enough to do that. Sorry Patman maybe it is a bug but the beast can send multiple pending positions as it self adjust to the counter trend. You might see a ton of them but if it is the same position maybe it is a bug.
