Guys Im prob doing something stupid here,but this is the problem .
Placing the slope indi on my small live acct and on a demo same broker, same platform, ie i logged in and out, i get two diff sets of info.
I took a snapshot to illustrate, but not sure how to post that here?
so used jing instead

No, you have a data problem and you are also not using the latest version of the indicator.

All the 0.0 in first screen shot is lack of data, Close your Empty4 and right click on the Empty4 icon and select open file location.
Go down to "History" and in that folder you will find all your data.
Just select it all and delete it all... When you re open your Empty4 it will re download all the pair history, it will take just a couple of minutes... should correct the problem.
I believe the latest version of the SlopeValues indicator is v 1.0.4.

(Put it in your "scripts" directory, and drag the script onto an open window. It will create a series of windows and flash and blink for a while. When it's done you should have a pretty good history.)

FWIW, I do this every time I start a new demo. Today, I had two new bots coming up, so i opened the demos and set the script loose well in advance of my actually needing them.

I'm just doing 0.01 lot trades for now. Only interested in being consistently profitable for now. I was able to avoid the current retracement, got out just in time. Need careful enteries now, trend is not that strong.

Thanks for the info on the scripts and history. I had run the script repeatedly.
The thing that puzzles me is that on the same platform/installation of Empty4 i get 2 different outputs.
demo V live as i said.

Can someone advise where the latest versions are kept?

This 10.2 has exploded in so many directions one cant keep up.

nonlinear, I'm trying something like that. I'm trading pairs with strong D1 slope, but entering when the H1 slope turns. I figure that is driven by actual PA, as opposed to entering at pivots or MAs which as you say are fairly arbitrary. Plus entering when the H1 turns tends to get you in at the extreme of the move, so by the time it hits the pivot you're already well into profit.

I've been taking any pairs with D1 slope > 0.6, but I may decide to restrict that to pairs with D1 slope trending in the right direction.

dentiok, zool is looking at the actual combined price of two pairs. There's no repainting there.

I thought it might be worth pointing out that this approach has a very long and respected pedigree. Robert Miner advocates a "dual timeframe momentum filter" as the key element of any trading setup. In a nutshell a dual timeframe momentum filter is trading in the direction of the higher timeframe momentum indicator (i.e. D1 TMA slope) but waiting until the lower timeframe momentum indicator has moved in the opposite direction, before entering when it re-aligns with the higher timeframe direction (i.e. H4 or H1 TMA slope). In effect this is same as entering in the direction of the trend, after a retrace against the trend has ended.

I have noticed that Jem does something like this except that he often enters while H1 is still crossed in the opposite direction.

Is it just me, or is it fair to say that this market is fairly trendless and there are not a lot profitable NB trades?
