Hi Gary, try using this one 10.2 TMA True Slope v 7.13 - v1.0 instead. I use this one on D1 and then zoom down to H4 to pinpoint my entries.

Will appreciate your thoughts. Pippstubborn

Baluda, i'm wondering: would that be possible to incorporate price to pivots distance to the slope dashboard? A separate indi with only pivot distances (as in DWMPivots on every chart) as a dashboard would actually be sweet as well.

Recently, since not many pairs are in strong trends ive noticed a huge success trading pivot bounces. Now im concentrating at some majors - i cant monitor more then 3 charts :)

Best regards
cheers

The message posted by GaryFritz is very important for two reasons: 1. It highlights the
dualism between slope and value / threshold, and 2. it uncovers the fact that, the higher
the timeframe, the slower the responsiveness of TMA slope with respect to price action,
therefore leading to the idea of opening and closing (and/or reversing) positions at TMA
peaks – only for higher timeframes.

The attached file explores the theoretical basis for the proposed modification of such an indicator, and it further suggests the design of an EA based on Baluda’s Slopevalues v.
1.0.5 indicator.

This is a topic that I posted over on the slope level/direction forum that I think is responsive to Gary's comments. Specifically, I believe that RSI(2) applied to the TMA slope quantifies and illustrates the inflection points that Gary is interested in. On the plot below, for the EUR/USD at M15, there is a plot of the M15 TMA slope with a 21 SMA. Below that is a plot of RSI(2) for the TMA slope and the price. As you can see the TMA slope comes down below -0.4. But then the RSI(2) for the TMA comes up through 50 indicating the inflection point Gary is interested in. By the time it crosses 90 the slope of the slope is very strong indicating that a long trade would be a good idea. When the RSI(2) eventually comes back through 50 it indicates that the rally is over.

Any comments?

PS I'm still trying to figure out how to attach an image to the post.

OK now that I know how to post in line images (thanks Gary!) here is another example of the M15 E/U from this morning. Basically the TMA slope finally reached -0.4. But then the RSI(2) for the TMA came up through 50 suggesting that an inflection and retrace might be starting. But that quickly failed, and the RSI(2) fell below 10. At that point, it should be clear that the trend is continuing and it is time to go short.

Where can I get rsi(2) indicator?

Thanks

It's right there in the folder of your standard indicators (along with MA etc). Drag it to a window with the TMA slope. In the window that pops up chose "apply to last indicator" (not "close").

Use the process explained here: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 098#p21098
...but drag Relative Strength Indicator instead of Moving Average. Specify 2 for the Period. Uncheck the Fixed Minimum and Fixed Maximum boxes.

As I noted in the above posts, it is also helpful to plot the RSI for the price. To do that you drag the RSI to the same window, but you chose apply to "close" instead what Gary has highlighted.
