Try downloading the original TVI .mql that I just placed in the original post.. I read where it needs to be in your folder for the 2 color to work.. I did not notice that as it was already there for me..spotdespot wrote:Very odd - that version worked even though the other version worked with your template it didn't without it and I had to overwrite the "old" one with this one...... Bizarre. Anyway - thanks very much - I will have a play with it.
EDIT - seems I am still having issues with all but one Empty4 instance. No ideas tbh - recompiled the indi and tried all obvious things but no joy. Working on one Empty4 instance though so I'll test there!

Re: Slope LEVEL -- or DIRECTION?
With all that taken care of I want to point out that my main attention is placed on Price and its relation with the daily and weekly open lines and the 5ma basically using NB's/Jem's 10.2 style. Then the relation what price is doing in and around London Open , although not exclusively , however I cannot watch the charts all day so I must make a choice of when to trade to a certain extent.. And I choose to place most of my attention around London open moving to the N.Y. open. I am not interested in much after 9 or 10 a.m. N.Y. time. I am influenced in this from a thread many of you will remember from FF , "No Free Lunch but all the Free Coffee you can drink" as Peter makes a very good case for that .
jmo but entering around Tokyo open is a ticket to get burned... Done it more than once and been burned more than once.. Are there times this is not true, well yes , of course. But I am most interested in piling as many probabilities as possible in my favor. London is where the most money comes in...
I then look to Neo's slope indie to confirm direction, and finally the TVI for confirmation on timing.
It is plainly obvious, to me, that if the TVI and Neo's slope are not in sync you had better think twice before trading. Yes you could counter trend trade but once again I am interested in probabilities. A poorly timed trade WITH the trend has a much higher probability of being bailed out than one against the trend.
I have been using 1hr charts with Neo's slope indie set to 4hr tf for the most part.
I have been working my day job more than normal the past month so I have not spent ton's of time with this but it does look interesting to me. Good trades are obvious imo...
Inputs are appreciated..

Rocky, how much does that TVI indi repaint? It looks *too* perfect -- smooth, perfect signals, etc. If you just bought when it turned green and shorted when it turned red, on the charts you posted at least, you'd clean up. There are hardly any losers. I doubt it works that nicely in realtime.

Re: Slope LEVEL -- or DIRECTION?
You will have to put it on a chart and see, I don't see it but I want to point out I do not look to it for signals in that sense, I look to it as a confirmation of direction of NT's slope which I look at to confirm what Price is telling me so by the time I am looking at the TVI it has usually or many times changed several bars back. The fact that the TVI changes color in itself will not result in action on my part.
Price and its action around the weekly/daily open in conjunction with London open area is my main interest.
When I see Price doing what I like, moving off a daily open on the correct side of the weekly open (trending) in the area of the London open (at or after preferably) I then look at the TMA to confirm the higher time frame slope direction (a must) and then the TVI must confirm the current timeframe direction with the TMA slope.
A simple solution if necessary is just use the stock tvi which does not repaint. It was explained in the first linked thread a page or so back that the repaint was simply a result of how Empty4 handles changing the color. (Over my head) lol.. If you over lay the stock TVI on the 2 color it is identical in path to the 2 color... there is no difference in slope of it... And actually as I mentioned earlier if you place The tvi on top of a NT TMA Slope histo of the same time frame they are pretty close to the same... Not much different than NT's original MTF idea.. So maybe it's a bit redundant....lol I kind of like it though...
But Gary I am all ears for whatever you come up with on it...

I'm not getting the weekly/daily open indis on my charts when I load your template. Should I be or are they not part of the indi package you provided and are to be loaded seperately? Or, have I missed something somewhere?

Graham,
Here is the open indicator. just puts a line on the open timeframe that you input. The template uses it twice once for daily and once for weekly but it can be made to display any open .. day week month ...
