Neotrader posts them as ex4 files (for now, hopefully he will release source at some point). ex4 files are the compiled computer-language version of the indicators. You can't open them in an editor, or if you do, you will see gibberish.

However they should show up in your custom indicator list. Not sure what went wrong there. It could be related to Windows 7 -- did you install Empty4 under C:\Program Files ? In Vista and Win7 that's a "protected" area, and if you try to put files there, it tends to squirrel them away in another hidden location. Win7 tries to make it look like the file is actually under C:\Program Files, but it really isn't, and not all programs handle this trickery well. No surprise, Empty4 doesn't.

Strong recommendation: install Empty4 somewhere else. C:\Program Files is a bad place to stick arbitrary files.

Like I asked before, are you seeing any other custom indicators? If so, you should see those files in the same directory as you placed the NT indicators you downloaded.

A screenshot of the directory you placed them in showing the contents and the full path would be nice.

So you did not installed your Empty4 in another folder?
When people give you an advise you should at least try it first.

Install your Empty4 outside the "Program Files" directory (eg. C:\Trading\Empty4).
The correct directory for indicators is <YourMetatraderDirectory>\experts\indicators\

So you did not installed your Empty4 in another folder?
When people give you an advise you should at least try it first.

Install your Empty4 outside the "Program Files" directory (eg. C:\Trading\Empty4).

I have tried it before (see the previous post), but still can't work.....I place it at C:/Empty4

Click on explorer to list the files. click experts then indicators, if the number of files "lower left corner" exceed 1000 then "ex only files will not show up in the Navigator. You must remove enough indicators to have less then 1000. Make a sub indicator and cut and paste to accompblish.

It is the one heartache of not having the mq4 file!!
