Balls to the Wall, a 1 minute 1 trade EA

V 1b is in post 1. There were some logic errors whose existence manifested themselves when I was able to watch the bot running in real-time. Previous versions were coded incorrectly, so this is an essential re-download.

I have also tidied up the chart feedback to more accurately reflect your choice of EveryTickMode. This led me to the logic error that was causing Balls to calculate one of the MACD colours incorrectly.

The trading logic appears to be correct now; I just watched Balls take a buy trade correctly.

Should you wish to do this whilst experimenting on demo:

• - draw a horizontal line at the price level you want.
  - double-click the line to 'select' it, right click and select 'Horizontal line properties' then the 'Common' tab.
  - rename the line with the text in your LowLineName input, by default "European low line."

Version 1c will have a chart estimation of lot size, take profit and stop loss based on the distance of the Bid/Ask from the nearest relevant fractal.

There arise a few questions at the moment":

What happens when the EA is restarted at a later moment in time ? Like for example now, that a newer version (1c) has been reloaded and must be installed Do we have to wait till tomorrow for a restart ?

What is the use of replacing the yellow line ? Why must this be done ?
Answer : As I can see from starting the newer EA (1b), It tells me : "There is no low line ....". Soo, we have to put it in manually at this moment.
I have to find the right candle now in order to determine the low. If I am correct, it is 1.2563
The EA recognizes this and sets its trading bias accordingly to 'Long' .

Steve, the newer version from post 1 mentions as versionnumber : 1b. But in your last posting (10:23 am), you mention version 1c already or was that a referring to a future version ?

V 1c is in post 1.

This one shows an estimate of the lot size, stop loss, take profit and the profit/loss generated when one of the stops is hit. This is all based on the distance from market to most recent fractal, direction depending on the bias.

Yes, but at the moment (version 1c) it seems not to work. error 4202
I was filling the description field instead of the name field. Haha .
It works !

But now, my lotsize is zero. What the heck,
It estimates that my "estimated take profit" will be : 37723.20 pips. That looks good anyway.
And my "Estimated loss" = 0. What else do you want ? My day cant be beaten.

I've just loaded version 1c on EU 1min chart but no line was drawn on the chart. So I manually drew a line and name it "European low line." but the comment on the EA is still "There is no low line".

Have I done anything wrong?

Very interesting ... a few months ago I made an EA for this, and in backtesting over a decent period of time (2004 onwards) it had some periods where it profited, but longer & more frequent periods where it took heavy losses. I experimented with covering BE, trailing stops, messing with the TP and SL levels, and reversing the signals - nothing improved its basic performance or lack thereof.

I can dig it up if anyone's interested. Not wanting to be a wet blanket or anything as who knows, maybe I coded it wrong or perhaps the market's changed and this approach is now valid.

Since we have the option of using slope, can you make disabling the manual bias-line requirement an option? The slope should provide the bias we require, I think. Glenn
