NB10.2 v1.2 EA need 10.2 WOH 1x0 5.22.mq4 & 10.2 WOH 2x1 5.22.mq4

Hi Al,

I haven't the slightest idea which is the setting you are reffering to. I tried looking for an extern like that but I can't find one. What's the actual name?

Kind Regards,

Alex
I think he is referring to the EA properties' common tab. Where you can select Only Short positions.

Cheers,

The Only short setting on the Common Tab of the EA properties. When it is on, you get constant error messages when the EA tries to go long but is not allowed.
Observation is the path to discovery.

im gonna try and backtest this babyyyyy....i do think backtesting is some what important at least to know wre the assumptions can be broken :).
...
Backtesting will not work well due to the repainting nature of TMA Slope. If you use Daily candles for backtest for example, the 4HR TMA Slope value will be wrong and vice versa.

The only way backtest would work is by using TMA True for the Slope. I saw that in one of the Indicators here somewhere and it wouldn't be difficult to do in this EA. The only thing I think will change is the reading of the TMA Slope values. +/- 8 should become +/- 6. That is something in the TODO list.

Kind Regards,

Alex
Or set tmaTrueMode in the indicator to true before running the backtest. I have it set that way by default.

The repainting has been discussed much, and we will rightly incur the wrath of TISH if we pollute this thread with it. Don't do that. The thread is here: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... f=37&t=587

These are RANGE trades. If you don't want to use these, it better to set TRADERANGE to FALSE. This way the EA will not execute them.

I perosnally don't like range trading and have disabled from the EA.

Hi

Can anyone post the Alexx's original EA? ( not the one we currently use)

Thanks in advance

These are RANGE trades....

\Matt
Actually I don't think those are range trade, I believe they are D4/H4 trades (i have two similar positions running ATM)
Obviously if you close a position when conditions are still valid for a trade, then EA will reopen it...

Right click on order number and check "comments". This will show you the type of trade

I am guessing he has - they are D1/H4 Trend trades for me too.

If you right click in the terminal window in Empty4 where you can see the open trades, and then click on the "Comments" menu item to have a checkmark next to it, you can see the trade comments in the terminal window - the comments show what kind of trade the EA opened: D1 trend, D1/H4 trend, WPC range.
