Currency Rings [ number of pairs ]

Hi everything

Could anyone with experience of currency rings please help me understand if a 4 basket ring or more, is 'safer' then a 3 pair currency ring?

More specifically, I know the pairs individually move from profit/loss/profit and the ring although opening in loss is likely to move into profit for a time.

More pairs in a ring will have more spread to overcome, but are they also likely to go into profit sooner, or is this not the case.
