EA with supertrend indicator for NB10.2a system

Hello everyone,

I am very glad and excited that I came across this forum. I am amazed with the wealth of information that is available here.

Many thanks to Steve for maintaining this forum. I have to thank NB, Jem, Neotrader, Baluda and many others who have been sharing their wisdom.

I am looking for EA based on supertrend indicator to trade NB 10.2a system.

About the SuperTrend indicator -- basically follows the trend of the price. If the price is above SuperTrend then the market is in uptrend and vice versa.
Nbr_Periods: adjusts the amount of bars for calculation. (the average true range)
Multiplier: The amount to multiply the result of the avarage true range by. This result is then added to the median price of the current bar

Trading Strategy

In uptrend DP>WP>MP

Take only buy trades --- Trading position to be opened when the specified timeframe candle closes above the supertrend indicator. The position will be closed when the candle closes below the supertrend indicator. Plan to start trading with EA from London open hours to London close hours (through US session). During the specified trading hours as long as the price is above the daily pivot the EA should be taking only buy trades.

In downtrend DP<WP<MP

Take only sell trades – sell trade to be opened on the chosen timeframe when the candle closes below the supretrend indicator. The position will be closed when the candle closes above the supertrend indicator. During the specified hours as long as the price is below the daily pivot the EA should take only sell trades.


The EA should have an option of no alignment of pivots (to be able to take counter trend trades on lower time frames)
The EA should also have an option of alignment of just weekly and daily pivot
The EA should have option of adjusting TP and SL for each trade
The EA should have option of adjusting SL and TP based on ATR (Average True Range of specified number of periods). Instead of used fixed SL and TP - the EA should have option of using 1 ATR or 1.5 ATR or 2 ATR's as SL and TP.
The EA should have option of adjusting number of periods and multiplier of the super trend indicator
The EA should have option of adjusting trading hours based on local time
The EA should also have option of taking a buy trade when price closes above pivot (not price crossing the pivot but the candle closing above the pivot
The EA should have option of taking sell trade when the price closed below pivot

Arjun, welcome.

I am not going to do anything about this immediately, but for good reasons.

Nanningbob asked me early last week if anyone has coded 10.2A. I kind-have, but as a basket trader, so not much use in other scenarios.

10.2A is impressive in its masterful simplicity, so it is time to create a shell onto which can be bolted stuff such as that which you suggest here. I will create the shell this week, and then we can look at your idea again in more detail.
