Re: Nanningbob 10.2 Autotrader's new home

I have received some server errors that I do not understand. It would be appreciated if someone can help me with this.

I am running MultiBob 1.1.10 OOTB. The only change is risk Percent changed from 2 to 1. It is a demo account at Cowboy IBFX (US). See attached Journal Report Time 2012.10.04 11:56:07

Hi everyone

First a big thanks to Paul Steve and Naningbob and all contributors. This is one interesting EA. I have been trading 10.2 and 10.2a.on demo for week and a half. Virtually every day is in profit with the account creeping up overall. With all the version changes and set changes I have done my history is a little disjointed so I won't show here for now but it is going well considering many pairs are in the ranging mode.

1.1.8 has run without apparent bugs (with one exception noted below) for me on an FXOPEN ECN demo. I have tested risk percentage and manual lots settings carefully which worked perfectly.

I have found one minor thing which seems to worth looking at. I have max spread set at 12.0 and the EA is taking pivot trades on both GBPNZD and AUDNZD which have spreads of around 30pips.

Am I interpreting the coding right in saying that the EA should not be entering these trades? Are others finding this as well.?

At the moment these trades are working out in profit, but normally I wouldn't go there with a 30 pip spread, so thought I would raise this here.

I have the same type of messages in my journal, am running version 1.1.9.

I have been running it on demo for two days. The only exits I have had so far have either been off 100 pip target (I set target to 100 pips) or have been stopped out (some at a profit some at a loss).

Does the EA calculate its own target appropriate to the resistance/support lines for that particular currency pair and use the 100 pips target as a safeguard in case of loss of server connection? or does it just enter the trades and unless we manually set an appropriate target for each trade based on resistance and support levels for that currency pair it will continue until either it hits the [100] pip target or gets stopped out. Thanks

I think you are confusing pips with points/pipettes. FxOpen ECN spread right now on AUD/NZD is 2.0-3.0 pips.

Cheers,
Dave.

Just over 48 hours ago I said:
garyfritz wrote:I started running 10.2a at (I think) about 2012.10.01 04:00 GMT+0, and since then it's closed about $2700 and it has $900 open, starting at about $36k, so it's up about 10% in less than 48 hours. Not BAD.
Unfortunately it hasn't continued at that pace. :) It was at about $39600 equity when I posted that, and it's been running about $1000 lower ever since. Pretty much unchanged for most of the last 2 days. Right now it has $1050 open, $1700 closed, $38600 equity.

This is v1.1.7, running untouched with tradeNB10.2 = false, tradeNB10.2a = true, otherwise OOTB. This weekend I'll update to the latest version.

The 30pip spread for EURNZD is probably correct so should be no trade. There are a number of agencies who give 1-3 pip on 'majors' but NZD pairs are 25-40 pip spreads. You have to pick who you deal with when using basket style trading or simply remove those pairs. I found this out and made a little routine (attached) to list spreads & digits - put on a plain black window.

thanks for posting that, GBP-NZD often jumps to 7, EUR-NZD around 4, this is what it looks like for others

Hello Paul, I've installed last night v 1.1.10 and saw that the EA opens immediately trades at the changing of the day (daily pivot change), without the price crossing the daily pivot first; I think there's still a problem there. I believe you're from the Netherlands; I'm from Belgium (Dutch speaking too).

Best regards,
Danny

Sorry but it isn't correct - certainly not on FxOpen. imo anyone trading (or probably choosing not to trade) as the broker has a 30+ pip spread on anything but really exotic stuff like USDZAR must be crazy. I checked the live spreads for AUDNZD on FXOpen and it was in the 2 to 3 pips range - see attached live spreads from MyFXBook - even those brokers like TradeFort with huge fixed spreads don't get that high on the likes of AUD/NZD, EUR/NZD etc

I am running 1.1.10 on FXCM demo account and I am getting a lot of 0.00 D1 Slope reading for most of the pairs. So only trades that has got a slope reading are kicking in. I read in one post above that readings might be missing if there is not enough history and I did install the load history script someone provided in this threat. Has anyone got an idea why this is happening?

Previously I was running the 1.1.07 on Alpari (and readings were all fine) with MPTP and the results were stunning, until I relised that the opened hedged trades had no hard TP and SL so this gave a bit of a drawdown, but still up £1000ish for ten days of trading on a £5K demo account 2% risk.
