Hi Shelley,
it's okay to do that but you have to make sure you are 'calling' the different positions with either a different magic number , or ticket number etc. Also take into consideration that when MPTM takes a hedge, it automatically gives it a magic of '1'. you can check this by hovering over the open position and the magic number should display. Sometimes it doesnt work, just try again.

I ran a similar setup with Baluda's EA , actually FOR Baludas EA, and ran into some issues, dont know if it was MPTM or Baluda's EA.
I had MPTM on two different charts using 2 different magic numbers that were issued by the Initial EA (v1e) and then MPTM would recognise the magic and assume the next stage with it's own magic. Dont know if you follow this, i'm not the best at explaining. I am now trying Paul's version of MBTM. Seems to be handling the baskets a lot better this way.

Hope this info helps with what you're trying to do.

cuz.

Hey cuz, thanks for the help :D

I had to go to work and when I got home it was displaying...I think there was a trade that BE wasn't set on, so maybe it wasn't working properly until the screen comments came up.
In any case, I will make sure I set a Magic Number for each chart in future.

Cheers

People get used to my bots showing screen feedback immediately they are loaded.

mptm is my earliest published ea; back then I had not even developed my DisplayUserFeedback() that is so familiar to anyone who delves under the bonnet of my code. There is a call to this function right at the start of each of my later ea's run, in int init() (you can guess what this function does from its title).

mptm will not show a chart display until the chart receives a tick. This can take a while if your platform is disconnected from the crim's server for any reason.

Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Hi guys

I am new to this forum.
I am big fan of MTPM for as well demo as live trading.
I am testing my new strategy for basket trading. For this I would like to manage multiple baskets with specified currency pairs on a single platform.
I have been looking on this site and forex factory to find any answers. After 2 days of searching, I am getting a little desperate.
Probably it is something straigtforward but I just can't figure it out how to set-up the baskets within MTPM.
Could someone please help?

PS: English is not my native language.

Thanks a whole lot in advance

HiArt99 wrote:Hi Steve,

being a hack coder, I tracked down the issue for commodities and Indices on MPTM.

The PFactor factor subroutine did not cater for them, and my criminal doesn't use the same code for Gold for example.

To address this I have added 3 external strings:

Code: Select all

extern string  BetPer1Pairs                  ="UK100,WS30,DAX30,NAS100,CAC40";
extern string  BetPer10thsPairs              ="GOLD,SP500";
extern string  BetPer100thsPairs             ="WTI,BRENT,SILVER,JPY";
Now I have been through my pairs and pressed F9 to open a trade. If it said "bet per 1" the pair stub went in my "BetPer1Pairs", and so on. I have done this so folks whose criminals use different names (WTI is crude for me, but it could by CL or Nymex, etc) can adapt MPTM to their platform.

I then adapted PairsQty() to return the Pairs in the 3 strings:

Code: Select all

int BetPerQty(string betper)
{
   int i = 0;
   int j;
   int qty=0;

   while(i > -1)
      {
         i = StringFind(betper, ",",j);
         if (i > -1)
         {
            qty ++;
            j = i+1;
         }
      }
      return(qty);
}
Finally adapted PFactor to cycle through these pairs, and set and return the correct factor

Code: Select all

double PFactor(string pair)
{
   double Pipfactor=10000; // correct factor for most pairs

   string betper;
   int i = 0;int j = 0; int betperqty; int k; int pf = 0;

   for(int cycle = 0; cycle <3; cycle ++){
      switch(cycle){
         case 0: betper = BetPer1Pairs; pf = 1; break;
         case 1: betper = BetPer10thsPairs; pf = 10; break;
         case 2: betper = BetPer100thsPairs; pf = 100; break;
         default: break;
      }

      if (StringSubstr(betper, StringLen(betper)-1) != ",") betper = StringConcatenate(betper,",");

      betperqty = BetPerQty(betper);
      string pairs[];
      ArrayResize(pairs, betperqty - 1);

      i=0; j=0;

      for (k = 0; k < betperqty; k ++)
      {
         i = StringFind(betper, ",",j);
         if (i > -1)
         {
            pairs[k] = StringSubstr(betper, j,i-j);
            pairs[k] = StringTrimLeft(pairs[k]);
            pairs[k] = StringTrimRight(pairs[k]);
            j = i+1;
         }
      }

      for (k = 0; k <= ArraySize(pairs); k ++)
      {
	     if (StringFind(pair,pairs[k],0) > -1){
		         Pipfactor = pf ;
               Print(Pipfactor);
               return (Pipfactor);
        }
      }
   }

   return (Pipfactor);
}
No doubt you'll be able to tidy up my diseased coding, but I need something like this to get MPTM to work correctly.

I think I have manage to get it working (sort of) trades for dow and dax are ok but the ftse100 returns failed when it trys to modify the breakeven? Its says invaild stops in alert box keeps on beeping in alert box every second its past breakeven.

no errors when compile, but still not right please help!!

All I did was change Pairsqty to BetPerQty and ad int BetPerQty just under externs.

Hi,

I'm having problems configuring the right jumpingstop settings. I read the manual but couldn't figure out what I am doing wrong. I am using a BE at 15 pips, locking 10 BEProfits, and i want the SL to jump by 5 pips after reaching BE, so i tried following settings:

BreakEven=1
BreakEvenPips=15
BreakEvenProfit=10

JumpingStop=1
JumpingStopPips=5
AddBEP=0
JumpAfterBreakevenOnly=1

But for some reason the JS ignores settings AddBEP/JumpAfterBreakevenOnly, and starts jumping from 0 breakeven, or doesn't jump at all for some pairs. I tried all combinations, AddBEP=1 and JumpAfterBreakevenOnly=1, as well as AddBEP=1 and JumpAfterBreakevenOnly=0

None of them produced the JS of 5 pips after BreakEven was reached, they start jumping from 0 or just don't jump, not even after 20 pips. I am letting all trades managed by mptm, and only setting this BE/JS feature, along with hedge to true (the hedge is not being triggered either). When I see BE/JS/hedges are not being set when they should, i remove/reattach the ea, or restart the platform, and sometimes it sets inmediatly a couple of BE/JS, but not all of them. In the error log I only see some "invalid stop" messages, which happen randomly at some brokers, even when all trades are still at a loss.

- Can someone please clarify what JS settings will make SL jump each 5 pips after breakeven and for all pairs?
- Does the JS need to be bigger than BE and/or BEP?
- Does the hedge setting need to be set on another instance of the ea in order to be activated?

I appreciate any help with this. Thank you

Hello,
someone familiar with the Multi Purpose Trade Manager from well?
I would thus trigger a hedge from 3Lot.
Does that work? This should be used when a grid trader.
So when the 6 position is sell, let him from hedge 3Lot, does it work?
